Coil pack for distributor and VEMS

Is there an ideal coil pack to use? the engine is a ghetto 20vt. I have an 034 TTL coil that has been sitting around for a while. Is there a better alternative?

Use VEMS to trigger individual coils. The VAG 2.0t coils work well and are cheap/readily available.

Forgot to add in my original post that I'm keeping the distributor for now.
