Junking cars

A lot of you most likely have experience in selling a car to a junkyard or someone who takes it to the junkyard for you. My brother in law actually picks up junk cars to sell to junkyards and makes a killing and I am looking at getting into the same deal.
Ill be going to college since I am out of the army now so I will have loads of free time on my hands. I am looking at trading in my 350z for a truck to haul with and when I finish the Mk3 Jetta turbo project I can sell that to buy a trailer/winch and have some startup cash. My brother in law will pick up a car for 2-300 bucks, cut the catalytic converter off, pull the aluminum wheels and radiators/ac condensers and alternators off and then sell the car to the junkyard for 3-400 bucks and sell the rest of the parts as scrap metal. On average he makes about $300 profit per car and gets upwards of 20 cars a week on busy weeks, and about 5-10 a week on slow weeks. That is a profit ranging from $1500-6000 a week!
Obviously starting out I wouldnt be able to do that many cars just because nobody would know about me but thanks to networking, I can have custom stickers made by Kuma85 and get cheap business cards and use craigslist and the newspaper to get my name out there.
Basically looking for input and ideas guys! My wife has a 2010 wolfsburg jetta so I would still be in the VAG community until I get a good chunk of cash to build a car for myself.
