Nitrous on an i5

I'm curious as to why I haven't really seen anybody ever run nitrous on these things. Is there a certain reason? Obviously not warning to blow shit up is a good reason but besides that. I'm curious.

There was an old QW thread with a guy that did it. Pretty sure he was turbo too. I would be really hesitant to do it on a JT for example or anything that the piston rings haven't been properly gapped on for NOS. A turbo motor could probably handle a shot though I would think.

I wouldn't hesitate to do it, especially on a car with a huge turbo. A 50 shot can REALLY help with spool a lot.
Other than on a race car though, it is a lot of trouble in my opinion. First you have to tune for it, then you have to refill your bottle, gotta make sure it won't blow up, it isn't really legal, etc, etc. Much easier to just TERBO!!!!!

I put nitrous on a stock 8v small valve head. 100 direct port wet shot, I ran it once and took it off. To make that car safe with that power I would have had to rebuild it (Chasis wise)
Like loxx and others said, a turbo motor will deal with the nitrous much better as long as it is not close to it's tolerances.
If you do you MUST do a wet shot, even if its 50. A wet shot premixes the fuel based on the nitrous jet, this way you are not going to blow anything up related to the nitrous mixture.
You will also need a tune that removed a lot of timing - remember to run this safely you should use more fuel and also reduce your timing significantly based on your size of shot. With VEMS or some of the other standalone/chips you can do this quite easily. If yours is CIS 20v I think you could even just use the distributor gear (Like I did)
I have a full bottle sitting in my garage with a 4 fogger set up - I would love to try it on an a 3b motor, but it is seriously instant power with the potential to destroy things.
