Silicone Coolant hoses, worth it?

Any one have an experience with the ebay silicone coolant hoses for the AAN? I think they are "G-Plus" brand.
I have been meaning to get a set of hoses and was just looking at all the different options.
I am not 100% on the current age of my hoses. Is getting a set even worth it, or should I just replace hoses as they start to leak?
I was also looking at the DO88 kit, although they are from Sweden, might take awhile to get here as well as looking at 034's. But Those are over $300 for a set.
Thanks for the input

All the 034 hoses I have ever had leak through the braided reinforcement layers. Don't know how or why, but I wouldn't get them from them. I have no experience with the other 2 brands.

That's what I've heard as well, that the silicon 034 coolant hoses are no good and OEM is best.
Another brand that seems popular is Roose. No experience with them though.

I have seen Roose before. I just checked them out again and it looks like they only have ktis for the ABY and ADU engines.
I guess for now I will just keep OEM. I don't believe there any hoses leaking, but I will hopefully be diving into my coolant system a little in the next few weeks. (New reservoir, metal T-stat housing and heater valve).

I have 034 on my B4 AAN - just because they had the s2 sets at half off. No leaking so far but I realize I'm in the minority

It is not so much, for me, the quality of the silicone hoses, as it is the stiffness. You really have to clamp down on them to get them to seal. If they are going on a plastic fitting, it could crack or break the fitting. The other thing is they are hard to get on over the rib in the fitting. Too easy to put on, usually means you have to crank down harder to seal. Too tight and a pain to get on.
Me, I like rubber.
