Hey guys the date for the 2013 Lake Tahoe drive is set for June 15th this year and Dan and I are excited to be hosting it. We will be doing a one day get together this year and it will include some new sights that I will detail below. We hope to see everyone again this year and enjoy the nice scenery. If you can let us know if you plan on going because we will be doing a brunch BBQ at the lake and I need to know approximately how much to get.

So here is the plan:

We will meet at Nevada Beach between Stateline and Zephyr Cove Nevada. Dan will post the route info for the California team as they will be coming together and on a road that is to my understanding super fun to drive. Nevada Beach is a great place to meet up because it is literally right on the lake and has lots of parking. There are also barbeques there so I will be able to set us up with some fresh breakfast burritos and drinks. Once we gather I are all ready for the day we will head North to Incline Village where you will see some sweet Lake views and a nice little curvy road. From there we head down Mt. Rose Hwy through some nice turns as it takes us down in elevation to South Reno past some cool sights. Once in Reno we cross South Virginia Street and head up Geiger Grade (State Rout 341) to Virginia City. For those not familiar with this stretch of road it is where they host the Virginia City time trial hill climb

We will continue on 341 through Gold City and experience some really cool scenery that shows the history of Nevada's early years by traveling past old mines, vintage industrial mining equipment and breathtaking scenery as we head to Carson City to merge onto HWY 50 back up to elevation to Lake Tahoe back to Stateline to hit up a buffet to eat so much that we are ashamed of ourselves.

This is going to be a fun drive and the feedback from the first run last year has inspired this route. We should not see traffic and this will offer a lot more opportunity for some "spirited" driving on some really cool roads. We will still get a nice chance to get some great lake views with elevation changes to the high desert.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone again. I am hoping that Avant Werks will be joining us as well and also our friends from 034 Motorsport.
