Drew's 1991 Audi 200 Avant

Happy to be starting a brand new project thread.

In the fall of 2012 I picked up my baby. I was living in Minnesota at the time and it popped up for sale about 20 minutes from me. I had JUST (like, that week) picked up a Volkswagen Golf and knew immediately it has to be sold in order to buy this. I have a very VERY understanding wife.

First order of business was to get rid of the old ugly Ronal's in favor of some more modern Ronals.

Stay tuned, and you'll see the little bit I've accomplished over the last year and a half. (which is coincidentally, the longest I've ever owned a single car)

Love the pics! Colorado is a beautiful place.

Don't forget to add a clutch to your list :)

Are you driving or shooting??

:metoo: The car looks awesome in those pictures. It's almost as if you do photography for a living or something. Nice

Haha, thanks guys...

That ice drifting shot was a fellow Audi Club NA member who I handed my camera to. Set my camera and told him not to drop it, and hold down the 'go' button, lol.

Almost forgot this shot from a while back too!

Now I have more wheel decisions to make. Run the 16x8 Fuchs I picked up that are in great shape, or hold out for a set of 16x8 Euro V8q Basketweaves, or run the Et25 17x7.5 Allroad 5 spokes. Hmmm...

I've basically decided the BBS RK's aren't going on this car, and I traded the Boleros already, haha.

Personally I think those 5-spokes look great on the avant. No issues with the ET25 offset?

The B6 A4 5 spokes (as seen in the picture directly above) are 16x7 et42's and are officially sold and pending shipment.

I get too ADD with wheels and can never make my mind up. The Allroad ET25 wheels have been done before, and I think it looks incredible (not to mention the color matched trim and V8 bumper which are on my short-list as well)

Picking up some 235/45r17's on Sunday.

Nitto nt-555 extreme zr

Getting them for a price I can't turn down, would love to hear if anybody has first hand experience with them. I think I'll participate in a few lapping events this summer

Not to threadjack, but I have a complete set of 5 of those B6 5 spoke wheels and 4 caps from my B6 parts car if anybody is interested :D

And everyone knows 16s are the biggest you should ever go on a 5k/200 without looking goofy :P

The avant is looking sharp! I ran across a glacier blue one with a hideous blue interior a while back, but I was just starting my shop and couldn't spare the funds to buy it... and the blue interior reminded me of my grandparent's Buick.

Wow, surprised you found another glacier/nautical avant! Was it in Colorado? I have one of those as well :) It will be for sale very shortly actually.

Wellllll, 20v's might could get away with 17's and 40 series rubber, possibly, seeing as though they have proper arches in the back, but anything bigger than that is going to look as bad as 17's on a non-20v typ44!

Actually I have encountered two - one was in Wyoming several years ago, and the most recent was here in Texas.

ARRRGH! Mine eyes! I've been blinded!

Not enough front fender to frame that big of a wheel. Just disrupts the balance of the car. Dare I say its approaching donk-status... :hide:

Lol. Not quite donks. Donks you have to install a lift kit just to "fit" them. I prefer my 17's anyway.

Scored the tires, heck of a deal if you ask me.

'10 date code. Plenty of tread. $100 for all 4. Better condition than I was thinking

I'm not a huge fan of the color matched bump-strips. I think they serve a good visual purpose of breaking up the mass of the car.

that said... I REALLY like the other-than-black side view mirrors.... was thinking about chroming mine (a'la s4/6) and I think that picture convinced me.

Those are actually aluminum, not chrome!

FINALLY got the v8 tails installed. Going to wire in a camera to the keyhole and run a dual-channel dash cam.
