Taco's 1990 V8 quattro -- 5-speed prep

Well here it is. I finally got the Big Chassis Car I have been wanting as a daily driver for a long time. Flew to Salt Lake City with a 3 hour layover in Denver to get this thing. Then drove it all the way back up to North Idaho.....all in a weekend lol. All I have to say is what an incredibly smooth and comfortable ride. Has plenty of power on tap for passing those slow lane hoggers too which is great.
So here are the current plans:
Gathering parts for a 5-speed 016 torsion swap. Getting ready to cut the trans tunnel out of a buddy's 200q that he is scrapping. I may do the swap this summer.

Well gotta keep business and projects seperate ya know? Just need a few more motor mount sales and I'm set. Once I find a new place to live with a proper garage and plug, look for some super awesome clean welds and new products.
Just let me know on the bushings.

So I called Audi today, since the local dealer service "advisor" was a complete tard, to see what recall work had been done on the v8. Turns out the airbag module, jack sticker, and cruise control bushing were all fixed. Unfortunately the speakers are not covered on the recall which means I will have to rebuild them myself unfortunately. Good thing capacitors are cheap!

So havent quite decided whether to side mount the charger or graft it on to the intake manifold. Im honestly thinking sidemount because I dont want to have to modify the hood for clearance

Do you plane on running the AWW 016 from the v8 Quattro (larger input shaft +built in oil pump) or an 01e?

Interested to see the SC progress. Remote mounting seems ok for everything but packaging (not a ton of room on the side of the engine).

I havent quite figured that out yet. At first I was going to run an 01e but after a lot of research and thinking, Ibe decided to stick with a 5-speed. Cheaper and easier is the reason why. I was thinking of an 016 out of a 200 20v or an 01a out of a 100q. I imagine it would be pretty hard to find an aww, unless that is what the 200 20v is?

Yeah thats exactly what I was thinking. I want to mount this in such a way so that I dont need to modify the hood at all. I want a total sleeper look. After I actually DO get it working in such a way, my next step is worrying about the ecm and high compression. 10.6:1 is fine with aluminum heads but Im sure the stock timing needs to be dialed back about 10-15 degrees

Don't know why you're worried about space... my mom's neighbor was able to fit the same Buick super charger, plus a pretty big turbo, into his Honda CRX.

Yeah, the PES G1 was side mounted in the B5 and it fits ok next to the V6:

Still, some thought needs to be given to mounting and keeping the belt happy.
This seems to be a great resource for the M62 & 90
