Snap me a pic if you get a chance. I thought about doing something similar, but by the time you stack the sliders and the mounting brackets up i was concerned about headroom. Now that the seat is in, I might swing it by the distributor and test fit a bracket.

I have sliders and mounting brackets, and i can tell you head room is TIGHT with a helmet. I'm not 6foot+ like Jim either. I do currently still have headliner and sunroof though.....should get that out soon i hope. :bashtard: <-----roof on your helmet with sliders and brackets :P

This is what I am planning on attaching my 944 seats to.

here you go Jimmy, and others...really simple design that works well. I am 6'1" and have pretty long torso and I was fine as far as height goes even with the sunroof and headliner there.

Back part that mates to factory 'sliders' or guide channels..

Keeping them for now, Phil. Sorry, I know Andy had his eye on them.

Peter, thanks for the pics, that looks really nice. Now that I know where I need the seat, I may try this.

Let's see, where were we..

Higher res pics here.

I ended up sticking with the frankenbracket and beefing it up with a second slider

Image

The seat is as close to the floor as possible, perfect for me!

Image

Then it was on to the passenger side, this one was so easy and only took me about 4 hours to install since I reused the base of the factory bracket without many modifications.

Both seats are in and ready to go!

I also picked up a Sparco 2" spacer for the steering wheel, you can see it in this picture.

At first look the seats look very similar, even though they are different models. Works for me!

And if you are wondering about the stoplight in the background, yes, it is fully functional, minus the yellow, Jarrid

That's more or less how I mounted my Sparco seats. I ripped the stock seat from the slider, and welded the Sparco's side mount brackets right to the slider, works great.

All this talk about different turbos inspired me to get my arse to the dyno since something a little more responsive than the 35R will likely find it's way onto my car in the next month or so. It is going to be hard to part with this turbo, in fact I may not be able to! The reality is there is still a lot of headroom with this turbo, especially with some E85 and more boost. I am just never going to use it, though the curiosity is killing me right now..

This is interesting because the car put down 450 whp uncorrected on 91 octane. My last dyno session in Denver came back with 455 whp SAE, so maybe those correction factors are not all that far off for turbo cars! The previous dyno was 544 whp SAE for 104 Unleaded. Hmm.

I did leave a little on the table, the boost control still needs a little work, and I may have been able to squeeze out a few more horsepowers with timing, fuel adjustments and more boost, but no knock, 28 psi on pump, 450 whp and EGT's below 1400 after the turbo was a good way to start the weekend.

enjoy

Nice run Jim it's nice to see the sea level numbers and how it ramps up.
I'm gonna check out the old graph I've always wondered if the anti-surge softens the turbo ramp up at all

Well, remember the altitude, it sucks. Way better now even with anti-surge.

Damn almost 4 years between dyno runs, WTF!

Yeah that is a lot better than at altitude, I'm wondering how much actual difference it makes. I still have the non anti-surge, I've been pretty much talked out of the anti-surge but still I wonder. I mean I've at least been smart enough to not buy it until I try without it LOL (Oh man I hope I don't eat those words)

I still prefer the anti surge, it gives up just a little oomph down low, but not really spool time. I mean the turbo still hits at the same time, it just can't pump as much air when spinning at low rpms.

Plus the sound, oh the sound! The normal housing sounds strange, more like a grinding shuffling noise. Anti-surge = jet engine. That noise is your wasted oomph , but the stiffy is worth it every time.

Jimmy, that wasnt bad for spool based on the chart. It looks like you have 27 pounds by 4700. It is interesting though where your power and torque are at though. I would be tempted to take up hta up on their claim that the billet wheel reduces spool by 400 rpm. If you had 400rpm sooner spool and 7lbs more air up top, that would be wicked.

Does beg the question as to what a 3076r with a billet wheel or the 5857 would do.

HOT!!!!! Lovin it.
Nice work Jim!

You know... If you think about it. You really start building power at the same point the Stock 7A does. 4k RPM. But from 3,000 on your building more power. It may have Lag, but..... Well food for thought.

I have my heart on a 3071 when I get the URQ done. I'm a lemming. Maybe I'll go Holset just to be different.
Damn.. That wont work either. Lots of people gong to those too.
