Re: Ed's 1991 CQ. It's COLD inside the garage.
This past weekend has been a bust. Snow delayed some deliveries and now it is 11am and 27º! I'd really like to work on terminating my harness and swapping in a oil filter mount from a turbo car (it's just easier) but something about working in the cold really sucks. I'm going to run my space heater for a bit to take the edge off then try and get a bit of time in. To make matters worse I have the twins as home all day (not a bad thing but not conducive to progress).

27 degrees is not cold... Just dress accordingly
Edit: Holy crap that WG dump plumbing looks amazing! I wish I knew of a source for those extra small flex pipes when I was putting mine together...

I have a 3.6 PT motor that is gonna need manifolds if youre feeling jiggy Hank..
Re: Ed's 1991 CQ. It's COLD inside the garage.
Well I had decided to try and shove my EMS and relays behind the dash but the glove box is seeming like where everything will end up, for now at least.
I do not keep much in there anyway

Worked on my oil lines a bit today looks like everything will fit nicely. Need to tap my oil pan extension but otherwise, once a few fittings arrive weds, I'll have the oiling done.
I need to figure out the best way to splice in the crank and cam sensor wiring and the fuel pump relay; amongst a few other things.
The GOAL is to drive it to cars and coffee 03/03!

That'd be awesome ed, maybe i'll try to make it up there. Still interested in that valve cover?
Re: Ed's 1991 CQ. It's COLD inside the garage.
At a minimum we'll have a 3b'd CQ but hopefully I can drive my car!
I'm still interested in trading.

I don't know if I'm just lucky, but when I tapped my pan for the 7at return line, I was as careful as I could possibly be and the hole stripped. I ended up having a 3/8piece of aluminum welded on top of the extension and it worked well. Also, that little gasket between the extension and the pan took like 3 weeks to get from the dealer. Just my 2c. Looking good!

I have the gasket en route. I contemplated having a fitting welded on but we'll give this a try. Wish I had one of those cool S2 oil pan extensions
Re: Ed's 1991 CQ. It's COLD inside the garage.
So I think I have decided to simply repin my crank and hall sensors. Does anyone know if these are correct for the harness side of the CPS and Hall connections?
Re: Ed's 1991 CQ. It's COLD inside the garage.
Well, I'm going to just butt splice the pigtails for now.
In other news, I got the oil pan tapped but because of some confusion about what 1/2" NPT is (fitting labeled 1/2 but is really 3/8ths) I have a bushing in the mix which adds about an inch of height. I'm thinking of just running a 1/2" NPT barb to get the height back to reasonable.

I'm thinking I'll drive it to work next Tues but Cars and Coffee this weekend is starting to look like a real longshot.

When I did mine it was really tight, but that was with a -10 line. Looks good. Looking forward to hearing this things fire up!

There is an interesting nexus between productivity and spouse's level of irritation. I've been tasked with slightly less so that I can wrench slightly morePRA4WX wrote:Wife- "Is that car ever going to drive/get out of the garage?!"

So now I have a bit of time to post...
This is beta assembly, just to find any issues once everything is hooked up. I'll hopefully fire it up Monday.
I'm thinking of mounting my coils horizontally to get the plug wires away from the harness.

you're thinking too much. Just hook it up and run it already!
