Man, all I can say is wow! Unbelievable job. I hope someday my car, if I can ever sell this turd, will be half as good as yours. For what its worth, this is about the only long thread that I've ever read from start to finish.

I think I'll wait and tell you guys tomorrow.

The car done real good, I think the best # was 432 whp, uncorrected on 104 and about 29 psi. I know it hit a nice round 550whp SAE :-D I have to go through the dyno charts as I did alot of runs. I might not get them posted until tomorrow though, we had a server crash at work so I'm stuck here for the moment.

Yea, not bad for nose blead altitude! She was gasping for air though, my torque curve reflects how bad boost was falling off, it was down to 23 psi by the time 8000 rpms came up.

Running our of air with a GT35R on a little 5 banger. :o Ya gotta love that even if it is in the mile high city! Looking good. Keep it together so I can get a ride up at the Miller track. :-D

I attended and can attest "IT ROCKS". my bet is we'll be hearing soon about a few more HP tacked on.

Awesome! The results are amazing, and I am in awe of your results/hour spent in the garage!

You and Javad inspired me to go and fetch a "free" 016 to hoard away, just in case.

Any speculation as to what she'd pull with that fat seal-level air that Javad always uses?? :P

Jim, awesome work! VERY nice power band, from looking at it, almost looks like your 35R is acting like my 40R at that altitude.

What fuel is that on? What do your timing maps look like?

Good stuff, 8)

OK, here's the dyno story. I showed up and did the first run on street tune settings, about 25 psi of boost, 91 octane and no water injection. this is the green run. From there I started playing with the water injection only to find out it wasn't working. I've been having problems with my pump's pressure switch. This just resulted in a bunch of heat soak. I tried upping the boost on 91, but the car was too hot and at his point I was pretty much out of gas :wtf:

Good thing I had some 104 unleaded in the trunk :D The first run resulted in a bad misfire so i decided to pull the plugs. Everything looked good there so I added more dwell. Problem fixed, now we're talking! After some AFR fine tuning I ended up with 417 whp 383 ft-lbs.

Now it was time to inch those number up a little so I took off the air filter and retarded the cam about 4 degrees and we ended up at the final value of 434 whp 391 ft-lbs.

Overall I'm very happy with the results, my main goal when I started this project was to have 20v race gas power at a lower boost and 91 octane fuel in the 20v. Done. The second goal was to pass 400 uncorrected whp at altitude. Done. :D

So what's next? I'd like to see some higher numbers out of pump gas so I'll probably hit the rollers again once I get the WI working again.

I also am really anxious to try rpm based boost control on this car. I think I could have some really interesting 4th gear dyno plots with this turbo:) On every run I started at 3000 rpms, in 3rd gear. This was only to keep the turbo out of surge, although it still surged a bit, but not enough to make the car buck... I think a 4th gear run starting at 2800 rpms would show an even wider power curve.

Javad, I'd say it's still way more responsive than your 40r based on what you describe. I can hit full boost in 1st and 2nd no problem. You'll have to drive it when you come out. 8)

Todd, it was good seeing you, having a passenger in the car really helps in the rain! After our run down the interstate I backed the boost down and filled up the tank with 91 and I was having all kinds of traction problems on the way home. I was surprised how well the car stuck in the wet while we were out. It was almost like rain, what rain? Well except for up on the bridge

Yea, there was a moment on the bridge where direction of travel was was a bit uncertain :woowoo:
