Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Thinking about giving E85 a try. What do you guys think? 870cc's and an 044 enough for 20psi?
Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
ya but you are going to want 30psi on E85... you'll probably want 1000's for that or turn up the fuel pressure on the 870's if you can.

Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
But 30psi will pretzel the rods probably.

You have E85 in NY???

Yesss we do!
Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
oh, I figured you meant when you have a built bottom end. I don't see any advantage to E85 whatsoever unless you want to push the limits of pump gas and 20 psi is definitely not pushing the limits.

Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
200 is now tuned to 24 psi on E85 and is LOVING it! Injectors hit 88% duty cycle, so there isn't much room left in them however it's also as far as I want to push the stock engine.

Durring this video, we ran the Dynolicious App on my buddies iPhone and here are the results:
60': 1.88 sec @ 37.7 MPH
330': 5.01 sec @ 72.6 MPH
1/8 mi: 7.64 sec @ 94.6 MPH
1000': 9.91 sec @ 106.9 MPH
1/4 mi: 11.85 sec @ 116.0 MPH

The surface is concrete so it might be a bit more slippery? Either way, I like to hear some tire noise too

hows dynolicous working for you?, my buddy said he loaded it and it was glitchy, although I have heard it is rather accurate

Thanks man! First gear is quick in this thing so I've got to shift like a pro. This was a flawless run, perfect amount of wheel spin, didn't hit the rev limiter (@ 7500rpm) but you can see my CEL come on in 1st/2nd gear which is set to come on at 7,300rpm. Good times! I need to get this thing to the track to confirm the times here.

Dynolicious seems to work pretty well. I ran it back in my S4 and it seemed spot on then (I can compare it to actual runs at the track). It's important that you set the weight in correctly otherwise it'll be off. If you watch my video from the time I launch @4 seconds to the time that my buddy says "good" @16 seconds it's 12 seconds however he said good after the iPhone said the run was done. The MPH seems to match the speedometer pretty well too.
When is waterfest?

Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
NIck, WF is July 16 and 17. last year we all went down friday night which is the 15th.
There was a serious lack of old audis there. I saw three coupe quattros and two 80/90 cars all weekend (one of which was sonaxevos)
I dont think I saw more than two or three type 44s either, yours should be there basically

Damn, I work that weekend and leave for Myrtle beach on that monday so can't get any more time off. I've never made it down to waterfest. I've heard it's a bit sketchy though.

Thanks man! It's a beast.
After a long pull like that it billows a cloud of oil smoke though. I thought I blew it up although lambda was .77. I was like wtf!! Then it cleared right up. I think I'm getting some blow by again with the boost a bit higher.
Legit catch can on the to do list.

Re: AMD's 91 200q Project
Nice Nick!! How much timing did you add? I'd love to see a comparison of the timing maps. I can't wait to get some FIC1600's in and get e85 set up.
Are you currently recircing PCV to the intake?

Yeah... I'm also curious to see your old timing map to compare it to my current.

Not me, lol. They pulled my father over driving the 200 for "modified exhaust."

Thanks ED! I only added a few degrees of timing because as you guys know I am still on the stock intercooler. What I did do though is almost completely turned off the IAT related timing retard. So realistically I am using E85 as a half-ass fix for a lack of intercooler, lol. It's working good though.
My injectors hit 88% duty cycle but I am still on a 3bar regulator. If I drop a 7A regulator in I'd be good for 30psi of boost + on E85.
I also did a compression check for the first time EVER since owning the car, here were the results:
Cyl 1: 190
Cyl 2: 185
Cyl 3: 180
Cyl 4: 175
Cyl 5: 200
Does this seem normal/withing range? Engine was to temp and all of these were "dry" tests.
