Darin's 80tq...MOTIVATED...
It's roasting in here right now. I might have to turn the fan on.
The car looks great Darin. All kidding aside, it takes exponentially more work to keep the AC in these cars so I appreciate the effort to keep it.

Darin:
I'm in New England and I get ribbed about wanting AC too, especially in a car I take to the track....well, if I'm going to have to drive my track car for hours to get to the track venue in the middle of the summer, I want to do it in a manner of comfort....New England may not get anywhere near as hot as the Southwest, but take some 90 F heat and add 90% humidity and a black interior...you get my point ;-)
I'll also be using Hanks IM on my car, but I haven't figured out the IC and piping, so could I ask that you take some extra photos on the IC ducting and IC mounting before you button her up?
THANKS!

I am going to try this in a few days on the haul out to Pikes Peak

Did you already buy it? How come I haven't seen it?ShavedQuattro wrote:I am going to try this in a few days on the haul out to Pikes Peak

Yeah, I have the shirt. They want crazy money for their cooler/pump combo which looks like nothing more than a 2amp submersible pump in a cooler with some holes knocked in it. I bought a pump off ebay for 20$, the female connectors that come off the two tubes in the picture for 10 a piece and will use a "soft" cooler I have at the house with a zipper. My only concern with my blueprint is how much heat a submersible will put out. The ice water is to cool me, NOT the pump!!
I may need to revise my plan if I find the pump is melting my Ice blocks too quickly.
I really bought it more for track days. I was surprised at how many NPRA or NASA guys run these. They really work pretty well. It would be nice at Spring Mountain, even in the pits waiting on a lawn chair. I think my final revision may be one of those car ice boxes meant to keep a 6 pack cool. THey use superconductors to cool the inside of the cooler, but they keep the contents at 40 degrees pretty nicely. They run on 12v, and have a pretty low draw. I may get creative and donate a space in my trunk for a permanent spot! I doubt I would ever used it, but they also can be reversed to warm water up to 120 degrees!!
For the sub 200$ i have sunk into the concept, I think it probably will work out. Plus I'll have a spot for some Dr. Pepper or Energy drink of choice!! Think Kate would wear one? lol

Rally guys run em too. Hank the fittings and hoses are the same ones used in a hospital for warming/cooling blankets.

The way I see it, I need about 200lbs worth of ballast just in front of hte rear axles, so it mind as well be something that keeps me cool!!

Re: Darin's 80tq...MOTIVATED...
2 hookers in the back seat will do that.
Re: Darin's 80tq...MOTIVATED...
Nah, with all that weight up high, the center of gravity would suffer. Maybe if they had CF implants?

If they were dead the center of gravity would be much lower..

I don't think age was specified anywhere...ShavedQuattro wrote:Nah, with all that weight up high, the center of gravity would suffer. Maybe if they had CF implants?

I vote for hookers.
Re: Darin's 80tq...MOTIVATED...
Is this an overlay we are talking here or pure carbon?

I am so proud of what I started. Epic thread derailment. I think I'll link this over to Jess on FB!
