KW v3 coilovers have arrived:



Also included in latest parts orders:
-- 034 Strut top mounts: street density
-- 034 Billet aluminum subframe bushings: front (adj.), rear
-- 034 Delrin control arm bushings: front, rear
-- 034 tie rods: front (chromolly), rear
-- 034 wheel stud kit (x20)
-- JHM solid shift kit
-- OEM S2 coupe 6sp. shift linkage
-- Kamei grille

Just need a few more parts (B4V6 front subframe, 4kq driveshaft, 034 billet driveshaft mount, R/S2 front axle shafts, Southbend clutch, EFI Express RS2 trans mount brackets, 034 MS trans. mounts, 034 sway bar mounts), and will be ready for a full suspension & drivetrain refurb. Going to also try to do vacuum brake assist swap at the same time... need spare V6 or 20vt/7a PS pump.

I think he means to have the higher spring rate in the back to get a more ass-happy feel. I'll be installing them as intended.

Its a pretty common practice by the S2 guys. The front springs are 400lbs/ft and the rears are 360lbs/ft, so switching the 400 to the back and 360 to the front is just an small option to help combating the under steer. I currently have them on my car as KW intended but the next time they come off to replace top mounts Ill be switching them f to r.

No experience with KW's, But I do prefer the rears to be a little stiffer. I just swapped mine around so that the rears are stiffer and I like the way it handles WAY better. If your running a fat rear bar probably no need, but with no rear bar, I can no throttle steer around corners much better than before.
All in personal preference I suppose though. And without doing a track comparison who knows which is faster. But I definitely like the feel of it better now.

It would be interesting to hear why KW went the way they did. We know the car is front heavy, my guess is that their 4 post dyno made the choice

They probably want to maintain understeer for safety reasons. There is no way for them to know the driving ability of their customers.
Now for race applications they must not feel that way, as mine are the same front and rear: 90 N/mm (513.9 lbs/in).

That sounds like the stock spring rates for a 4000quattro. Maybe 80q.
I'd like to know what the CQ stock rates are. I'm guessing closer to 150 but I really am not sure.

Yeah, I've read the same. Want to try things out first and see how she feels. It'll be good to give the car a chance to settle in over the winter, and then shake her down on the track next year once I'm comfortable with the new setup.

I'll play around with the sway bars for sure; RS2 up front and will try either my 034 or B7A4 2.0t front bar in the back to see which feels best. A nimble, neutral feeling would be ideal.

I asked for a Nurburgring set up from 034/KW so hopefully it's not too harsh for the street!

I wouldn't wait and then make yourself take the car apart again, I can also attest to preferring a heavier spring in the rear. It makes the car feel less porky and it greatly helps the turn-in.

I took 90 quattro springs from the front of a V6 for my rears and my weitec fronts and the car can get a bit squirelly but I also dont have a rear sway bar in the car, I think a front/rear strut brace and a 4000Q front sway bar in the rear will make for a back end that will rotate a bit easier with the right throttle input (if my clutch will take it). The springs ride smooth but you can barely push the back of the car down, I think those KW's will be pretty sweet when you get them in.

-- a nearly new AAN head with 7A cams
-- and all the supporting bits

found themselves in a crate in my possession via freight last weekend, and were delivered to my local machine shop by Monday. Thanks to the Chaloux camp for a great deal and communications. Built stroker motor for the cost of a built 7A!
