My understanding (from the link you provided) is that the division by 4 at the end is just to get the quarter wave length, and doesn't have much to do with number of ignition events.
I liked the cliff notes version from the same thread:
VERY simplified formula:

1100ft/sec (speed of sound) divided by drone frequency = full wave length.
Full wave length divided by 4 = quarter wave length.
Quarter wave length multiplied by 12 = length in inches of the Helmholtz chamber required to deal with your particular drone frequency.

Tom, yes this car is stock 7a Coupé Quattro from the head to the outer CVs. I was not planning to use this large of a turbo but the deal was good so I'll be limited by the trans but otherwise it will, theoretically, have similar potential as a 3b.

In other news, I f'd my thumb up with a kitchen knife yesterday so nothing new to report.

But, do you know where is a limitation of stock gearbox?I am planning same way as you, only different will be a turbo (precision 6262), JE pistons,SCAT rods,VEMS,but i am thinking about using a different gearbox, than oem.
But as i said, perfect job Ed !

It is hard to put an exact number on the limitation of the gearbox, but it isn't hard to say that the 6262 will definitely break it.

To a certain extent the clutch pedal decides the limit. I took out an 01A in my last 7aT (~180whp) killed second playing with a G meter, after lots of abuse from myself and the previous owner :P

which gearboxes fits on 7A engine?3b? Without many modifications subframe or something else.If i am not do a "hard pull" i guess, that 7a gearbox can hold power around 400-500hp with a properly clutch . Its very rare to find a gearbox for sale in good condition,so i am try to figure it on best option...

Yeah, I've got to get the exhaust and sway bar out of the way. It was 105° yesterday and I know had an hour so I figured I'd mess with the laptop :D

Got it out of the garage!

I really want to get the exhaust (Thanks Micah!) on before I do much tuning on the street.
