What do you mean they aint liking the suspension much? There is hardly any camber adjust, so basically where its at is where its at, and the toe is easy to set front and rear. No caster adjust. If anything is way outta spec its because of the mods you did. I know derracuda has had his car(lifted 4kq) with the same setup aligned multiple times without issue.

More than likely they are just being dumb because it's an old Audi and not an Accord or something like that. Everytime I bring my Pathfinder in for an alignment, they always bitch and moan about it.

Theyre used to unmodified OEM vehicles. That and the rear tie rods are seized up. I think theyre bitching cause its a flat rate job and its taking them a while. Needless to say it aint gonna be done till Monday

So are they replacing the tie rods or are you gonna do it and them let them have another whack at it? I can attest from experience aligning modified vehicles can sometimes be a PITA, but then again, aligning my 4kq was a cake walk. I put my car up on a lift first and made sure everything i may need to adjust was already loosened and then just slightly snugged so it would be easy to wrech on when up on the alignment rack, then torque it down as i go around adjusting things.

It's literally no different than factory besides the springs... I don't see how they could have issues?

Idk to be honest. Theyre going to heatterear rods up and break them loose. Maybe put anti seize on them who knows. Theyre gonna do everything for $60 but it aint gonna be done till monday either way

Yeah no kidding. He said they would do it if I payed the overtime, but I was like....uhhhh NO. I've waited 6 months, I'll wait another 2 days. It'll give me a much needed break to relax. Guess now I get to start drywalling the garage since I dont have anything else to do...lol

Its just a downpipe. No pipe, no muffler. The exhaust will get done soon enough

Scored a bunch of much needed parts. Picked up a heater control assembly out of a synchro quantum. The arms that move the cables are metal, so they aint ever going to break again. Picked up the front quattro sway bar and mounting hardware as well too. Oh, and scored a complete shifter assembly out of it too. Turns out mine had gone completely to shizzle and thats why I was having shifting issues. Also picked up a bunch of missing brackets such as the CIS fuel injector bracket that holds the lines in place on the intake manifold where they all come together

Would the car still run if I didnt get a good solder on one of the pins in the ECM prom socket?

It all depends on which pin. Some chips have redundant pins, or pins with no connection internally to the silicon wafer at all. But if you buggered up an address or data pin, it's not going to work. As far as how it runs, it should be all or nothing. It will either read the EEPROM correctly and run right, or it won't run at all.

I have a professional Weller soldering/desoldering station. If you want to ship your ECU down to Utah, I can make sure the joints are all cleaned up and nice.

Thanks for the offer man! I picked up a spare mac11-b ecm at the yard today too. Im going to swap them and see if there is a change. I too thought it would either run or not. Guess well find out on Monday

Also, anyone here ever run a quattro sway bar in both the front AND rear? I think Im going to see how the car handles with the quattro bar in the rear and the fwd in the front, first. Then Ill takr my spare quattro bar and put it in the front to see the difference

That's my current set up and I have yet to drive it so I can't tell you how good or bad it is. xD I think it's promising, what I really want my car to do is off throttle over-steer, power under-steer and I think this set up will achieve it. If the front turns out to be to soft I will throw a Quattro bar up front as well. I also am looking into some B5 options for later down the road. I have no problem fabbing up some brackets to make an adjustable bar work.

Ive driven a car with an old Blau rear bar, but not a 4kq front in the rear. Car was used for track events and quite fun. Do it.

Push is a PITA in these cars. I imagine with proper throttle modulation you'll be able to hang the tail out while under partial throttle. To REALLY achieve good controllable over-steer I imagine it would take a high bias center diff and a torsion/locked rear diff. Over-steer can definitely give you more control over the car in cornering if it's set up right. I have a bunch of different ideas floating around in my head as to how I'm going to set up the car really well. My main thing is I want to keep the ride soft enough that I can drive long distances without getting too beat up so the option of really stiff springs are out of the question, which leaves sway bars to handle cornering duty.
