Try looking for 45foot length, I found that most places list it by the foot. Heres the link to that site: http://autovinylsolutions.com/3M_1080/3 ... e_Black_3Mvaria wrote:Thank you!

thank you.
1 more question: was the 45feet enough?

So far yes. That is with only one recut of the trunk lid. I was able to get two doors out of each length as well. So I cut the length out, then cut the vinyl in half. My brother's CQ is here so I'll measure it out and can say for sure.
Re: Nick's Black 90 - Vinyl wrap phase - engage :)
Checked last night, 45 feet would be enough to wrap the coupe for sure. You may be able to get by with a little less. Basically you could do both doors on one length. The fenders you would probably just cut the height length out (so 60"x30" or so) then the two rear quarter panels could be done in one length as well. The roof and C-pillars could possibly be one length but I put seams on those. Didn't look too bad, I'll take a few detailed pics of where the seams are. then the bumpers are the longest, about 10 feet to do those but you could most likely do both bumpers out of the same length. Hope that helps, the hardest part I think would be on the CQ is the rear deck tail.

Handed off the wheels to a neighborhood friend. Hopefully in the next couple days I get them back with new shoes! One step closer to being ready for BBQ
feels like there should be more to worry about than tires, maybe next year I will be trying to get turbo installed...?...

Re: Nick's Black 90 - Vinyl wrap phase - engage :)
Is it cheaper to dip/paint a car like this, it's $60.00 a gallon for spray dip paint or about $150-$250.00 for a complete car, you need a special sprayer about $60.00 though I have TIP airless sprayer that will do this I believe ... I think the wrap is longer waring though.... http://www.dipyourcar.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That's a good question. I think it will depend on what is available for a better price when I'm ready. Leaning toward 20vt though.jbrentd wrote:20vt swap or 7at?

I looked into the dip option, and it ended up being about the same for either, I have 350 into materials/tools for the wrap and it will last longer than the dip.Twintowers wrote:Is it cheaper to dip/paint a car like this, it's $60.00 a gallon for spray dip paint or about $150-$250.00 for a complete car, you need a special sprayer about $60.00 though I have TIP airless sprayer that will do this I believe ... Re: Nick's Black 90 - Vinyl wrap phase - engage :)
Nick the job looks great! I have a couple of questions:
How much of the material wraps around (or overlaps) to the back side of the panels?
Did you seam the pillar sections/roof at the factory rain gutter?
Thanks!

Re: Nick's Black 90 - New shoes, no spacers ;(
:frustrated: :frustrated: really shouldnt have sold those spacers. Thought I wouldn't need them but sure enough, the tire is barely clearing the tie rod end. Plus it just looks goofy now.

I heart those wheels.
I have a couple sets of spacers - but I think the closest ones to what you need are the ones Im currently running.

What size are you looking for? Also, what size tire is that?nsimps wrote::frustrated: :frustrated: really shouldnt have sold those spacers. Thought I wouldn't need them but sure enough, the tire is barely clearing the tie rod end. Plus it just looks goofy now.

Re: Nick's Black 90 - New shoes, no spacers ;(
Thanks Sean, I really like them too
The tires aren't rubbing so pretty much anything over 3mm would do the trick. If you have a set for 4X108 let me know
Darin, those tires are 215/40R17, I had a set of 15mm spacers that you included with the wheels but since I wasn't running a BBK I thought they would not be needed and the car fund was dwindling. I feel pretty sheepish not keeping them.
On a happier note, they look fantastic! Hopefully tonight there is some time to mount the lower grilles.

Re: Nick's Black 90 - New shoes, no spacers ;(
Wow! It does look good. I think anywhere from 5 to 10mm spacers will help it look even better. Are you going to mesh the bumper openings?

Re: Nick's Black 90 - Getting there. Pass. Side seat no work
Had some time last Saturday to replace both coolant temp sensors, sparks and do a compression test. Results:
1-175
2-172
3-165
4-175
5-175
I pulled the fuel pump fuse before doing the test, heard that was part of getting good numbers. Seems to be in good shape after 203,000 miles though
So after the fire incident the pass side seat stopped working and the memory settings for the driver seat stopped working as well. I checked the fuses in the main box and all are good. Any ideas of where to go next? The worst part of this is that the seat is all the way forward and that just won't do for the trip down to BBQ.

Re: Nick's Black 90 - Getting there. Pass. Side seat no work
Dang Nick, the car looks really sharp! I totally dig it. I may have missed it, but after the 'fire' did you replace the harness that got all burned up? I assume it was due to wiring, so it could have very well killed the switches as well. As a mean time measure you could pull the plug and figure out what two wired to jump to get the seats to move back, assuming you have power to them.

Thanks! I looked at the wires where the fire happened and although the sheeting was a little shriveled, looks to be ok. I'll take a few good pics and post them. Tell you what though, I'd rather replace the tranny then deal with electrical

it was a great experience and I was able to get five laps in before 7:00. I was pushing it a little too hard so I called it a day after that.
