Yeah...I think maybe if I convert it somehow...like I can convert it to my full version of SolidWorks. Thats how I got the (nice) renderings. So maybe I can find something that will convert them to the ind. version. I'll make it work somehow!

Ok...so about the holes being offset.
If I make the holes line up, that will shift the caliper(and pads of course) towards the ground. If you are looking front driver's side brake rotor facing the car, and the caliper is directly at the 3:00 position on the rotor, then the caliper will be facing upright.
If I was to line up the holes, this will position the caliper a few degrees past 3:00. This would mean that the caliper is no longer facing directly upright and the holes on the bracket would have to correspond.
Does this make sense??? I think what I have drawn up is the simplest way for sure even with the offset. Suggestions please.

Hey man, good question.
It supports the A8/S8 rotor that is 323x30mm and Porsche boxster S/Carrera (non turbo) monoblock calipers.
If I get some people to send me stuff like other calipers, rotors, etc., I could possibly design brackets for those too...but I'm not sure quite yet if I want to get into that. For now, this is a great option though.

I have to get two new front tires for the new wheels. The rears are worn on the inside...but have lots of life left on the other 80% of the tire (towards the middle and outside). Previous owner must have run with some neg. camber.
Anyway...fronts are Nexen brand 225 40 18's. The nearest nexen dealer is like Miami...so does anyone disagree with running two different brand tires
I know its ghetto...but I don't feel like wasting $20 in gas money just to get tires. If you don't object, what are your suggestions? I would like as cheap as possible, but also as good as possible (I.E. around $100 a tire).

Ahhh I was bad...I just got back from totally annihilating my final differential equations test though, so I fee like I am deserving.
Just bought the Phoenix Gold RSD6.5cs components for the front stage of the audi. They are THE BEST speakers period for sub $500 a set. Reviewers say they will compete with some $1k sets even.
I have personal experience with them in my last car and I can definitely say they are truly incredible if set up right. I think it will be a challenge to get them in this car. I intend to have the midbasses in their own enclosures in the doors, and I'm not sure where I'm going to put the tweeters. I may just put them in place of the (probably) 3" or so infinity components that are in my dash. Imaging would not be perfect...but whatever.
I also want to replace my 12" setup for a competition 10". Although the 12 is very nice, I just want something a little more punchy and only a proper 10 can deliver that.
On that note, if anyone wants to buy some audio stuff for cheap let me know! I have infinity speakers for the front doors and dash, (infinities in the rear deck also if anyone wants them), and alpine headunit, some MTX 4-channel amp, and 2 different 12" subs and a 12" box to choose from. I will sell any and all of it for very cheap, so just shoot me an offer if you want it! I can get specific model numbers/specs and pics of anything if interested.
Still waiting on adapters :( maybe they will come today (praying)
Exhaust is rescheduled for tomorrow...so thats exciting

pretty good day for the audi today.
I got my adapters in the mail!!! I was so excited. The rears fit perfectly. They poke just a tiny bit. It will look great slammed. I think the next thing to do is definitely get it a little lower just to set off the look.
Only problem was that the front UFO setup is preventing me from fitting the front adapters. The little UFO-shaped part is not allowing them to sit on a flat surface. So the wheels have to wait until the brakes go on before I can run 'em. Funny because the wheels need to be on before the brakes can go on lol.
Then after that I went to my good friend Tom Sewell's shop to make my exhaust. It was awesome...we only needed like one 8 ft straight pipe and 2 bends to make the whole thing from the downpipe back. We cut off part of my custom downpipe, then cut the dump tube for the wg off so it was angled at the ground. Then a flex pipe after the dp, and a v-band right there. From the v-band, it is a straight pipe back to two bends into some mystery muffler (3" straight thru) which happens to sound AMAZING! It makes the idle almost sound lumpy and its super deep...and relatively QUIET too!!!!! I'll get pics this week when its back on the lift for brakes...and I'll try and get a vid soon too.
The best part...grand total came to $200. That includes a 3" stainless v-band ($42 his cost), 8ft of pipe, the muffler, and our labor. :woowoo: I threw him an extra 50 bux just cuz I appreciate his help so much. If you are ever in Florida, or ever need any tuning done call Tom Sewell up. Some of the best work/tuning/prices you will find on the planet
In other news, Kevin told me he would get on fixing one of my ECU's this weekend, so whenever he gets it back to me it'll be tuned. I can't stand driving it around so slow all the time!
read this if you are bored...its mostly for my planning
So just to get my thoughts and plans in order:
Need to order brake lines and wheel bearings. When those come in (hopefully sometime next week) I'll head up to the shop and get the wheels and brakes on. All the while watching my buddies 500whp (we hope) single cam D-series get swapped in next to me. Then whenever Kevin gets my ECU back to me I'll get 'er tuned and go romp around
Other things to do...
connect MAT sensor (had to disconnect to check functionality a while back...its spot welded on by the factory)
put some R134 in and find wherever its leaking from
buy some pentosin lol (holding off on the steering rack still :/ (maybe until I get an engine hoist)
I want a roof rack at some point
At least put some springs on it for now just to make the wheels look proper
(very temporary of course)
AND THAT should do for now and the near future. The car will be quite nice to drive around this way for a while.
not so near future plans:
these will be taken slowly but surely. They revolve around getting the Holset on
order ebay exhaust manifold
engineer some kind of support for turbo so the shitty mani dosnt crack
:-D
get a few little couplers etc to make the boost piping able to handle stuff. Need a v-band off of the comp housing and then some aluminum piping to replace my old ass rubber components. Michelin man hose is still being held together by silicone lol.
get injectors. These will be the injectors to make any power (aka so I dont have to step up for my serious build). They are capable of 1400cc at higher fuel pressures
oil lines and all AN fittings, etc.
dp can be modified to work at little to no cost
once i get this crap we will be ready to throw it on and tune her. Not sure when this is all going to happen...but I'll probably just buy stuff here and there during the fall. I wont be in a rush as I'm having great fun with the car as it is.
oh, and I need a clutch for when that all goes in. bye bye $850
(gotta find out if this clutch setup would be compatible for use on an 01E tranny (as well as my stock tranny of course)???[/b]

Hmm thats not a bad idea. If I had a lathe here right now I'd be on it NOW
but thats not the case unfortunately. Its definitely a lot of material to take off though. It would be like a 1/4" x 1/4" cut if you know what I mean. (45 degree cut...quarter inch in, in each dimension)
Its alright I can live with not having them on until later this week!
the exhaust will hold me over until then.

If you are ordering an ebay mani, is there any particular reason you are opting for the tubular unit? I would get the cast EM instead..I have installed both and the tubular one is really poor quality while the log is surprisingly well-built..
If you end up with the tubular version, get it over to a shop so they can clean up the welds and strengthen its weak points.

Oh no, I AM going with the cast unit with T3 flange.
Where did I say tubular version?? I'll be doing a tube one later on, but thats for when I'm going to make one myself.

hehe i just found out that the stock 215 60 15 tires are within .52% (.0052) of the 255 35 18's that are on my rear Porsche wheels...I might just have to put them on haha
cant be anything wrong with that can there? (rotational diameter is supposed to be within 3%)

Ah yes, I just have my worries because the Holset is a pretty heavy beast to be hanging there.
For the tires I was referencing running those on my back and the front ones stock (stock wheels and tires) hahaa
I'll be patient and wait until thursday when I can have them all on.

got dat booty on duty!
car is durty as a mofo and don't mind the damage to the rear bumper from the PO! It has character
pics dont do the fat-assness justice. It looks soooo meaty in person!
I'll get better pics later. Oh yeah...only the rears are on lol. Rotating diameter of stock wheels and tires is virtually the same as these wheels and tires.

oh and they rub when i go over bumps lol...I need to do something about those rear fender liners on thursday. Recommendations are welcome. They poke a bit, but it will look nice when low.

also I think I have decided that this car needs all red tails...end of story. Whatcha think?
