ok, headlight time....

euro light brackets 8)

i like the look of the blacked out surrounds in the 4kq lights.. so that's what i did today, and here's how i did it.

first off, take the lenses off by removing the clips. carefully pop the lense off. sometimes the gaskets likes to stick... so be real careful removing it from the glass. you can carefully scrape it off by lifting and scraping at the same time as i had to do on one of my lights....

clean the lense real well
Image

mask as desired

then put a start to spray light coats inside. heavy ones won't do any good

both drying for a little while...

next for the reflectors
Image

do yourself a favor and take a piece of tape, stick it on the flat surface you plan to paint, and pull it off... see if the silver comes with it. if it does... DON'T TAPE INSIDE THE ROUND PART... it will pull it off and make it ugly. find another way to mask it :P i got lucky this time, but haven't in the past.

i mask the surroundings as best i can to prevent ugly overspray
Image

with everything done and removed it should look like this
Image

this method of masking the inside of the lense works just like the ol' RC car bodies :)
Image

viola'! finished product!
Image

and a little test fit on the car :) i need to remove one broken screw so that i can have all four mounting point securing the light. that's good for longevity of the other three tabs :P

the bixenon's are in my room still. i haven't finished them. so these are just to tie it over for now. the hardest part about the bixenon conversion... is finding a suitable way to seal the backsides up so that i don't have moisture issues. i didn't the first time, but this setup is a bit bulkier... and i have the turbo inlet hose a lot closer now, so i'll have to redo it in order to make it work properly.

Looks a little rediculous with those rims on there... :hide:

Post by derracuda »

LOL, rediculous is right.. but they sorta fit! 19x8.5 ET42 with 235/35/19's..... no spacers! they rub when the wheel is turned because of the larger diameter... but the width/offset is just about perfect. i was thinking about lifting it about 2-3" and calling it the rich mans Box :D

Follow through with that, and we'll drag you into the street and murder you in the slowest, most painful way possible.

Looking good Derek! I'm stoked about those Gallardo rims. Now we just need to bring the zermatt back up here and terrorize the countryside!
