i like both... i get 50/50 appreciation on the A8 rims. for now they fit good, i'm running 235's ;), they are light and forged. i can't complain.

Are you sure you don't want to sell the OZ's to me? They look good, too bad they don't fit the 4K.

Well, like the ridiculous chrome fender vents, rims that don't nearly fit under the fender have become quite stylish. The white trash would probably appreciate it.

Does the IM spacer cause any alignment issues with the throttle body/pressure pipe on a stock 3B setup - seems like it would...
Any other issues or tidits of info regarding the spacer install?

Nah, it is only 3/8ths thick, and that moves it up about 1/4 inch and over 1/4 inch. It is an amazing upgrade for the summer months when heatsoak makes manifolds hot. It is like an oven in there without one!!

so, no real updates aside from the recaro seats i had, and all my materials, rear seat, door cards, and upholsterer have been MIA since oct.... i've tried calling and emailing him, but no word. i have his address and plan to make a visit (he's an hour away and picked up my stuff in the first place) soon.... so much for a couple weeks (back in july)

on another note... anyone have one of these rims they would lend me?

ok, my interior man has been located... he's sort of a friend first, so i can't be too pissed at him for not getting my stuff done. i've been gone to berlin and busy with other things, and he's had his brothers kids basically dumped on him, then the chicken pox (i think he's about 40), and that's no bueno.... he has nerve damage now and is in a lot of pain... and has nasty scars on his abdomen :(, then on top of that he's had pnuemonia and tbh, it's the worst i've ever seen him in the 3 years i've known him. he said he'll see about getting his boss to help him finish the job.

next order of bidness... anyone ever drive their 20vt with just a downpipe? man.. it's obscenely loud... i've been waiting a couple days for parts to show up for some customer cars and thought i'd take a poke at my new exhaust...

teaser pics..

there's also some shenanigans in the works for a new intake manifold, intercooler, turbo, header, engine management, and probably steering rack 8)

i've also been thinking about the wheel/tire situation. i like the A8 rims.. but they aren't quite what i originally had in mind for the car, they just fit the bill at the time and i really want to run some 16's, something a little more early 90's style. i haven't quite found what i want to run, but i'm always looking out for something unique and cool. i also found out that hankook ventus RS2 tires are made in 225-45-16... AND 245-45-16.. both sizes are a good deal shorter than my 235-40-17's and would allow me to lower the car for a better stance that i'd like to have.

i picked up one of those bluafergnugen trunk spoiler duckbill things, and while i like the look, i really don't like the piece of plastic it's made from. i'm thinking CF would be more ideal for looks and weight. it would be super simple to make.. it's just a matter of making them :P haha.

Derek,

Is that second pipe going to be for some un-muffled cut-out madness?

You should make 2 of them. I've been wanting to give my 4kqt some better high speed stability.

Does it really affect it that much in terms of stability?

Maybe? Might help, might hurt. In theory I think it might help, but there are lots of things that contribute. We need to break into the UW windtunnel.

wheel opinion time...

i can get the first ones in 16x7.5 for a reasonable sum...

i really dig the machine finish on them, and they look like they'd have decent clearance for brakes.
Image

i am having the hardest time finding my zermatt car in a set of these.. and they are 16x7

i really love these old OZ's, but they won't fit in a million years :(

Yeah, I like the top ones too. I like the ASA wheels, but not as much as the others.
