Okay, so I have been busy on the sewing machine. Actually, I have been over at my sister's house harrassing her to help me. She looked at me like I was idiot when I told her I wanted to redue the ur//s6 seats in quattro script. She thought I was even a bigger idiot, when I brought over the seats and thought I was brain dead when i wanted to reupolster 15 year old seats with "quattro" script from a 20 year old car.

I have gathered 3 full sets of grey quattro script over the last 4 years. ( still need one more to fulfill my dreams). At first I was going to do recaros out of the vw GLI, but when I got my s6, I fell in love with the seats. I have sat in Sparcos, recaros, Exc, and I find the s6 seat very comfortable.

So we dug in. I still need one more s6 seat to finish off the drivers seat, but this is how the passanger seat turned out. It is fully manual AND tilts for the rear seat. I used the URQ frames, with the foam and leather from the s6. Cool part about it is that the S6 foam is about 3/4 inch lower in the bucket, so the bolsters on the bottoms are big.

LOL, the interior is going to make this car a whole different beast. I have enough to "quilt" quattro script the door panels, the back panels, and the back seats. I also have enough to do the sun roof as well, but I need one more full cars worth to do the rear panel above the rear seats..

I think the interior is going to compliment my upcoming paint in that grey of mine...

Austin, thanks for your set of quattro script! It cleaned up really well after 3 cycles in the washer!!!

Looks great Hank, and i was just giving you a hard time for all of the familial borrowing that goes on in that house hold! I love those BBS's, I'd love a set for the V8 if I could find some (haven't looked hard, as I have two sets, stock plus Vette).

Cool idea... I bought and stashed an extra rear seat Quattro script, cover only, to eventually re-do my fronts

they will think that UrQ's should still have the original CIS 20vt, not a fire breathing 20vt, so we shouldn't care what they think. :D

It's like I told his dad while sitting in his garage. Make it what you want, there will be enough original "perfect" cars, you won't be happy with an original car.

Yeah, the car is not even kindof original. I like the way it is coming together though, and it is fitting the bill more and more everyday..

The person that poops in that seat gets punched in the face!! Really though, I would probably take it as a compliment and be thrilled the car is that fast.. It is scary though. I used to toss the keys to pretty much everyone and tell them to have fun. Now I like to be in the car, and give them a serious heart to heart about the power delivery in second and third. If you dont watch it, the car will jump lanes and be in the curb or oncoming before you know what hit you.

Good work Hank!! Amazing what one can get done when the wife is away for a bit. So is Aurelie one of "US" now? Have you converted her into the familial ways of audi borrowing and lending? What did you have to promise her for that awesome sewing help.......a GT30R on her Subie Outback? <quietly tells self to plan a trip up to see the daughter, grandkids, and sewing machine>

perhaps you should turn the boost down on the car - be a shame to have a passenger soil your hard work.

Scott, I think you may be on to something. I can just see Aurelie's face when he takes the car over to her house and asks if anything can be done to lift the "STAIN".

Hank, have you been able to run the Urq much since you revised the valve cover? Does it work as planned? It looks like a bunch of work, but would be worth it if you could end up with a high HP 20v that you could control the crankcase venting!

Oh and Hank, talking about where that line starts, you do realize you have "family" obligations to build an intake mani should the need arise and that I would have a pass around said line? I'm sure the guys would understand, but don't get to worried about me cutting in as the need for an intake manifold is a long way off for my Urq. :(

Yes Sir,
I understand how the line works. I kindof was thinking you wanted to build one yourself, but if you want me to, I would do it in a second!! After Dustin and a couple of others, I have another 4 IM's chopped up and ready to modify and I hope that my intake flnages are here by then. We can make you up something sweet!!

Aurelie was actually really willing to help, and once she saw the vision, she was totally on board. I think she tires of making baby dresses all the time, and this is something new.. The good news is that her sewing machine sews leather really well. :)

Those seats are beautiful!! Probably the most comfy seats I've ever sat in are UrS6 seats.

Yea I do want to build something myself, but I may need something to get running and cut some build time off.
What machine were you using to sew with...the toyota? I bought that machine originally to sew upholstery and felt like it wasn't heavy duty enough so made a deal with Aurelie, who needed a machine at the time. After spending a week in NYC playing and shopping with your mom, I can see why Aurelie sews her own dresses. $500 skirts or blouses that don't look like they would have as much labor into them as your front seat and weren't even done in quattro script material was the norm. :-D

Yeah, on the toyota. I love it. She talks of buy a machine in the next couple of years that she will take to the grave, and I would love that toyota for a once in a while sew job..
