Everything is back together now other than the two axles. I should have a new CV tomorrow to get the passenger side axle installed.
Today I wired up the reverse lights and used the 016's transmission harness. There was a sensor int the rear of it (near the center diff) that I assumed was maybe a neutral sensing switch for cruise control, but it never had continuity (gear, reverse or neutral). Any ideas? The 01E does not have this switch/sensor and since it was always open, I left the two wires open. Was it maybe on older 016's for center diff locking?
I didn't get to the launch control yet today cause I couldn't find a 5 pole relay to "invert" the clutch switch. I'll do some more searching tomorrow.

Courtesy/Komfort Blinker retrofit Audi 200 (and other old au
Quick write-up of the courtesy blinker/komfort blinker/"tap to pass" retrofit.
Part needed:
000-998-229 (000-998-229A can be used too) - comes as a kit with a relay, harness, splice connectors and a zip tie.


Next, remove all items necessary to access your hazard (four ways/emergency blinkers) switch. In the 200's case I had to remove the steering wheel, upper steering column cover and the knee panel thing. Next, unplug the harness from the hazard switch and splice in the wires from the komfort harness. By splice I mean add the new wires in parallel to the existing ones. Here's the connections I made for my 1991 200 (I assume other ancient Audi's and VW's use the same colors however no guarantee):
Komfort harness --> vehicle harness
grn --> blk/grn
blk/wht --> rd/bl
wht --> blk/wht
wht/gr --> blk/wht/grn
brn --> chassis ground
I popped out each of the terminals I was splicing into and soldered my wires to them rather than cutting up my factory harness. I can always unsolder if necessary. You slide the brown portion of the connector and you can remove each pin. I tinned each of the terminals and each of the bare wires, attached them and reinstalled. Then slide the brown portion of the connector back to it's original position to lock the wires back into place.
Completed "splices":

Just ground the brown wire from the Komfort harness and you're all set! Put everything back how it was!

Today I dropped off the D2 S8 calipers I purchased for my B5 to be powdercoated and I think I have decided that I'll install them on the 200 instead. It deserves the parts more.
Now, what rotors are normally used. I think I recall ur20v saying that I can use B6 S4 rotors. Does that sound correct?
Lol, I agree! The car is complete other than the drivers side axle then the car will be out ripping again!
And it's the little additions that really make me happy...like an extra gear will be nice. lol

323x30 d2 a8/s8 rotors... If building a custom bracket anyhow, I'd opt for d2 345mm disc if your 17's could swallow it...

Nick, contact Doug at Apikol. He has brackets on the shelf to fit the d2 s8 calipers and 345x30 rotors to g60 strut housings. Just finished mine up here-- > http://motorgeek.com/viewtopic.php?f=6& ... ead#unread

That axle is far more true than when it came in. Looked like it had been launched a few times
It was out about 1/2" over the span of 18 inches. Pretty normal for hard launching on stock axles. I can straiten them out pretty well by setting them up in a press fixture and rotating them once welded to get them within 1/8" or so. Probably feels a little smoother at speed now.

Man I've been looking for this on their site monthly even after I pieced together my kit out of mere curiosity. But alas the only bracket I had available was OEM RS2. So I had no choice but 323. Once my rotors need replacement this will be the next logical upgrade path... thanks for posting...
