After seeing such beautiful cars on here, they defenetly make me wanna start working on mine. Im looking to make it my daily/sleeper.
Right now im focusing on getting the car to be in good working conditions. I have a coolant leak, i found the part but im not sure what the name of the part is. :bangshead: i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.

That's your after-run coolant pump. Notorious for leaking when they get old. 'Bout $80-100 new, or you could try your luck with a used one.

What up everyone?
I havent really had much time latley to work on the 200. Im in the process of working out a boosting problem. The car runs and drives fine but when ever i get on the throttle the stock boost gauge reads 1.1 - 1.2 bars max. Right off the back my though was boost leak, i began looking and found two vaccum hoses that were in need of replacing. I replaced them and still only 1.1-1.2 bars althought it felt alot smoother then before. Any suggestions/advice oon what it might be?

Also i ordered this:

I couldnt decide which one i would use so i ordered both. In the end i decided to use the black.

Yeah I like those wheels in black, they look especially good with the square rear fenders. Good looking 200, always happy to see someone else putting some time/effort/funds into a 20v, I have grown attached to it's design/quirks. Chip it and it will be an entirely different car :D

you need to brush up on some stuff at www.smjautotechnik.com

also, if you are in need of parts and no one responds on the swap meet, then check out www.audifans.com.
its basicly craigslist for ONLY audi stuff and the occasional vw. You can sell and buy on the site.

whats up everyone?

Looks like ill finally have a day off this weekend so i can turn some wrenches on the 200. After doing some research and talking with some members on here, I have a good idea in the direction i wanna take the 200.

I wanna do a 1,8 bar chip/spring combo with a 3" exhaust and i wanna add a bypass valve. I figured this should keep me occupied while i save up funds for either an other audi (i would like a S4) or a 20v swap. Has anyone ever done a automatic swap to stick? is it possible?

Finally got my spark plug wires:

THANKS kuma, i appriciate the help!

Whats up everyone?
Heres the update on what i been doing to the 200. Since i first got the car the antilock off light had been on.
Image
I figured it was time to fix it, after getting pointed in the right right direction and a lesson on the ABS (thanks to colin2750, gtn116, and cuatrokoop). I began to take apart under the dash and began looking for ABS relay, luckly for me it was only the 10amp fuse on the relay that needed to be replaced.
Image

Image

Since i had already had under the dash apart i decided to check on my my check engine light didnt come on when the ignition key was on.
After getting the trim and the cluster out i saw that the check engine light socket didnt have a bulb and the brake light also was missing the bulb. :bangshead:
The Audi gods have been on my side on this one! :hail: Lucky for me the check engine light was not on! :foff: it sucks that some people would do stuff like that to their cars instead of doing it the right way :shame:

What's up everyone?
So lately work has been keeping me busy, I haven't had much time to work on the 200. On the bright side that means more funds
I ended up checking my TPS sensor "with the engine idling, use a short piece of wire to short across the middle pin and lower pin on the throttle switch wiring harness connector. (These pins are numbered as 2 and 3 on the connector). " as suggested on http://www.sjmautotechnik.com. Turns out when i do that my WG solenoid does not turn on and off. So looks like ill be needing a replacement one. This would also explain my lack of boost :wah:

Also i found a small coolant leak on the bottom hose of the expansion tank :bangshead:

Advice/comments are always welcomed! Thanks for looking!

Also i got some parts in the mail:
Valve cover gasket, t-breather hose that goes to the valve cover, thermostate and fuel filter.

Whats up everyone?

its been a while since i posted on here, figured it was a good time to show you guys the progress i been making on the 200.
Last time i posted on here i mentioned how i was having problems getting the 200 started, at first i thought the fuel pump had gone out. After sticking my head in the trunk and having someone crank on it i determined the fuel pump was not the issue. So the 200 sat for about a week before i got a day off to really figure out what was going on.

I found the 3-way breather hose on the valve cover had a big gash in it:
Image

Lucky me i had already ordered a new one

While i was working on it, i decided to replace the fuel filter and valve cover gasket since i had already had the new ones sitting at home:

I started with the fuel filter:
Image

the old fuel filter was in really bad shape was probably not helping with the starting issue i was having:
Image

New fuel filter installed:
Image

Next i started taking thing apart to get to the valve cover gasket.
Image

New valve cover installed:
Image

Since i already had the valve cover off i decided to paint it ( the color ended up being way more purple then the cap on the can was):
Image

Image

Now it was time to put everything back together:
Image

Also while i was at it i bought some of that cleaner spray for the connector and cleaned up as many as i could including the one that goes to the fuel pump. After that the 200 started right up and havent had a starting issue since :drive: . Since the fuel filter was in such bad shape i threw in a lucas fuel cleaner to take out anything that might be in the fuel system.

I also manged to get my hands on auto-meter boost gauge from the same buddy who sold me the 200. I decided to paint it black and mount it on the steering column:
Image

After some research and some help from help from EDIGREG (THANKS!). I T-ed of the boost/vaccum line that goes directly into the ecu, and for power for the backlight i got it from the ashtray.

Thats the amount of IN.HG when im in park:
Image

The amount of boost im getting, about 5-6 psi max:
Image

How it looks at night:
Image

Thanks for looking! advice/comments are always welcomed!
