A few updates.
The car got a suspension overhaul. Seam welded subframes, nylon control arms, aluminum subframe mounts, and the polyurethane rear diff mount.

The 016 torsen made it's way in, along with a new Southbend clutch from Marc Swanson. I also got that nifty new little 016 bushing from 034MS that makes my shifter feel 100000 times better. I also installed the short shifter I have had for the car for a bit from 034ms.
I also took the head off to inspect. Wow, I love e85. THe cylinders looked clean, the pistons were still bling bling aluminum finish, and the valves spotless. I swapped it out for Darin's old head that had 600 miles on it from a fresh rebuild with new valves, ported and very nice. I decked it to get rid of what little detonation it had. It will be nice to have lightweight lifters. I ran the old setup to 8500 daily with heavy lifters, so maybe i should raise it a bit more

Speaking of reving, Forced Performance sent me out the the HTA gt3582r with the billet wheel. Man, it is gorgeous. I can't wait to see how it spools...

Another engine related note, a few people have badgered me to post pictures of my powersteering setup down low. What i did was drill out hte water pump hole, tapped it all the way through and added spacers to make it line up with the right pulley. For lines, I used a 4kq feed line with a 3 inch section welded in to make it the right length before the banjo. Works great. To tension the pump, I just drilled a hole in the bracket, made a tensioner that puts a bolt into the block surface to force it away. Thats it. It is pretty easy.

Another thing is that My rack was leaking, so I swapped in a 4kq rack. While I was there, I put in in a Coleman Steering quickener. It is probably the mod I am most excited about. For 115 bucks, I got a 1.5:1 reduction. I got two splines for the quickener with small bores on the other side. I hacked up the OEM stuff, lathed bore to press in the stock stuff into, welded them, and put a welded safety pin in. At firs I was really worried about safety, but after seeing what the factory does( presses steel shafts into aluminum u-joints and applies solder to it. I have 100% confidence in the setup. I eliminated the terrible support bearing that has a bunch of play for a roller bearing in the quickner. I made a bracket to mount it to where the old bearing attaches.

I made a new radiator from scratch, as my Ron Davis radiator was leaking. Turned out nicely, and the rs2 shroud/fan fits much better then the last one.

So things to do? I need to make an intake manifold, plumb in a couple of 044 pumps, weld up a downpipe and exhaust and hit hte road.

I may not sleep from here on out.
