I'm sure a ride in an 07K car at the '13 BBQ will seal my fate.

It'll get done once I have all the parts.

Hank, stop showing me new parts.

There hasn't been much going on that hasn't bee displayed in other posts (engine mounts, trans mounts, ,oil pan, etc.). Meanwhile I have been ordering parts and prepping the engine bay for a respray.

Here are the last pics you'll see from me for a few weeks, Im headed out on nearly 20 days of travel. Hopefully the 07k swap gnomes will be plugging away while Im gone.

Amen to no rust, Sean. Over the 14 years I owned my car - never not once did I have an issue with a rust-seized bolt. Gotta love cars from the West.

Project is coming along nicely - keep it up - looking forward to seeing it and riding in it - or following it while I'm driving the Integrale :D

I like that cam cover, reminds me of those 80's 5 cylinders, 5 valves engine.

Very nice project! :-)

Oil filler through the hood? Just painting the bay or shaving too? :P

Is oil pan bottom lower, same or higher up from the old 5? Look forward to seeing this complete and how it runs.

Peter, it will clear on none SQ hoods, but this hood will require a different filler cap. It is very close back there.

Oil pan is the same depth as the older.

That's exactly what Im shooting for, wait 'til you see the intake manifold, much retro flair. It'll be a real head scratcher when the hood gets opened for a stranger.

This engine is the mockup unit and we'll be retrofitting a lower profile more simple oil filler cap to my engine. Also the SGI hood (mine) is different from some of the other 'sport' hoods in the matter that its most correct with the air intake boss just above the oil filler you see there

Looking forward to seeing it done.

After seeing some of Hank's pics, I'm guessing imsa style intake.

Either way it will be cool !!

Cheers,

Little progress, Sean has been busting his hump with the help of Josh to get the bay painted start putting parts into the bay clean. The engine bay was the only real flaw to the car if one was to be honest... Not anymore. Paint match is perfect!

This car is going to be unreal awesome. Las Vegas URQs are all uber clean engine bays(with exception to the 2.7TT bastard child), and this one can claim cleanest today!! If only Sean would sell 10% of his fleet to fund the rest of what I wanna do :)

Hank beat me to the punch with the pics. Of course his are better with the help of some sunshine in there, the sun was half way around the world by the time we finished up last night.

Hopefully things will start to fall into place now, once my travel has slowed down I been stuck out in the desert a hundred miles or so all week. The engine bay was one of a few key hurdles we needed to overcome in order to start gaining some momentum.

This was our status shortly before midnight...

Not a problem sean! im glad you like it. i will say paying the money for good paint makes it so much easier to end up with a nice finished product. the paint match couldn't have been any better. by the time we buff the blend line there will be no chance of telling it was a respray. ;)
