Well I think Ive isolated the hard starting issue. The intake boot failed on me Saturday. Blew a hole the size of my index and middle finger in it. Soooo in order to fix it, I think im going to cut it right before the throttle body and stick an exhaust pipe reducer in there. I tried silocon and a ton of electrical tape but it blew out first time I got over 6psi

Looking like a 2.5" OD reducer to a 2.25" OD exhaust pipe is going to do the trick. Looks like I'll be racing this Friday afterall!

Dammit....if my final contraption doesnt work tonight I may have to postpone drag racing on Friday and not buy my wheel adapters. $75 for an intake boot....oye

Is the intake boot the same that is normally on a 20v 4k? I might have one for cheap...

No, he needs what is known as a michelin man hose. It conects the throttle body to the intercooler. Like this

Ahh, haha I just did the same thing to my 20v I ended up giving up and just buying a silicone piece.

The tape never holds!

I fixed it! used a $3.50 exhaust pipe reducer and a 2.25" ID tractor radiator hose cut to size!

OMG TORQUE AND BOOST!! Idles better and pulls harder too. Not much...but definitly noticable

I cut the v-band off, so thats no longer an issue. Its just the inlet to the turbo is much bigger. You will have to figure out a different inlet boot. I used a cobra head for my solution, two actually. I got two in case I screwed the first one up beyond functionality and ended up using both to my surprise. You may do someting similar. I have faith in you to make something work. You already know the juice is worth the squeeze.

LOL. Last night was awesome. I'M SO GLAD I finally got to see what the car (and myself) is capable of. I bet I could see a 13.5 or 13.4 with a little more tweaking and practice

I'm going to add a little 110 racing fuel next time I go out. I bet that will get me over 100mph :D

Dave,

What cold side housing is that? My Volvo K24's cold side housing has the bypass valve in it.
