Ok guys, I ran the numbers on shipping and we can sell these hoods for $925 each if there is sufficient interest. I'd need at least 5 prepaid buyers before I'll pull the trigger on this.

discuss.

Just the hoods? Come with pins/fasteners? Any kind of strut/stick for support included or suggested?

more shipping. I can probably get pretty good fedex domestic rates. I'll check today. Or pickup from Lee NH of course (or any of the shows we go to - Carlisle next month or //s fest).

Hmm...I think I'd be interested if I could pick up at Hank's for that price. Might get too pricey having to ship it from NH to WA.
Maybe we could find enough buyers on each coast to get two shipments?

I'd settle for 3 and 3 (3 east coast orders, 3 west coast orders) to make this fly. or 5 in either location.

I'm already shipping a big & expensive crate north from IMS, so... what's the difference making the crate bigger and more expensive? lol

Let's get people to confirm.

The hood bolts in like stock. This means you have to supply the spring bolts for the front and the safety latch.
As I said in the OP, no provision for the gas strut.

Please keep in mind that the spring bolt are fixed position. Any adjustment is at the hinges. Just use the stock hood bolts.
I have test fitted each hood on MY B4. Have a look again at the pictures.

Please keep in mind that these hoods are hand made. That means that there could be small variations between them regarding weight and fitment.
I have 12 hoods total.

Hmm. I am on the fence. Part of the reason is I don't know if I can bring myself to cut holes in it for the hood vents.

I can understand that.
I HAD a 13th hood, that was the best one, I had made extra for a local German guy with the only B4 Avant in the country. He changed his mind, so I put it on my car. When the car was in the shop for something, one of the guys drove it and forgot to latch the hood.
Yeah, cracked up. Total loss. They did pay for it.

Chris has dropped the price to garner some more interest. New price is $850 per hood. any new takers? Same deal, I need 5 buyers on either west coast or east coast, or 3 buyers in each location.

Due to a storm we had here yesterday, 4 hoods have been damaged. If they are beyond repair, I don't know.
They took quite a beating.

Only 8 left!!!

Race cars dont mind beat up parts......

it may be worthwhile to chronicle the damages and try and sell for partial cost?

just a thought as both of mine are the same damage; forgot to close hood or hood latches/pins, and the corners up by the windshield are beat. and me i dont care in the least they are like that.

Would this decrease the number you'd be willing to ship? Does this change the numbers we're targeting to make this work?

No, it means that there are only 8 undamaged shippable hoods. I was willing to ship all 12, but I don't think anybody wants a damaged hood.

EDIT:
I know one hood is badly damaged, 2 have some damage underneath, the 4th one might be OK. Just went to recheck.

So 8 for sure, possibly 9. If someone is willing to take a slightly damaged, but repairable hood, I can let that go for large cut in price.
If Marc agrees.

If you look at the pics on page 1 you will see that these hoods barely have any frame. I will take some pictures of the damaged hoods so people can see what I am talking about.
