How are you connecting to VEMS, wired or BT? I've been using 19200 with BT and no probs. When wired, I think I was transferring at 115200. Why so low of a baudrate?
Wired. The default was 9600i think. Now using the 56k setting with no issues. Driving the car to work in 15 min so I can setup the WG spring!

Well shoot. Forgot the laptop. I only tightened the spring down one turn and only got on it once but I think there was an improvement already. And I need new plugs.
Car is still running great though, the suspension is great with no clunks or funny things, and i enjoyed the bass all the way to work. Only thing is with the decent amount of NVH it actually needs to be turned up quite a bit to notice it. I'll have to readjust...
Ben, I think that vid in the cabin was on about 20psi. 27.5 is much awesomR. Boost hits and then increases and it's like WEEEEE

Wow! That's awesome. I'm only on like 15 right now, but not for long. Once I get moved up here in the next couple weeks my new location will have E85 aplunty.

I gapped my plugs after buying a new set. No more misfire! They had spread to over .03" from .028! Back down at 28 is beautiful, so smooth. In gonna return the new ones and buy a few sets from Marc because they're 1/3 the cost.
I have the WG screwed down about 4 turns, seems good but I keep forgetting the laptop. Boost is only at about 23psi now but with the plugs gapped it feels really really strong. I really should put this on a dyno but the 4 wheel local to me wants $200/hr! Without a tuner! No thanks... It's MBRP btw (truck and car exhaust company).

Agh! Boost leak. Sounds really hissy and won't build the boost its being asked to. Pressure test coming up but I have feeling it's coming from the inlet to the throttle body.

I'm not sure. I read about people on other forums having to regap after a while, so I checked it. Regardless I'm going to pick up some from Marc, the new ones he has listed.
Also, found the leak:
That's the throttle body hose, 3b style. What is it, a 3" to 2.5" reducer? I don't need the ISV.

oh thats easy. Its just your basic transition. I have a spare OEM one in my stash I can take the measurements off of. I will do that first thing in the morning. PM inc

Oh dang! Cam position sensor is dying. The car died while I was adjusting the wastegate spring. And then it wouldn't start. I quickly did some roadside diagnostic and all the basics checked out. Dad thought it was the cps so he put some snow on it. Well it still wasn't starting so I sent Marc a text. And then I was just sitting playing with settings in VEMS and it started! Immediately Marc said cps. So anyway looks like I have a cps to change.
One good thing about the whole ordeal is that I noticed one of my boost hose clamps wasn't tight. Got me some mad overboost now. Boost onset is totally different. It's way quicker. To be honest, overboost is a dang good problem to have for once! Wg tuning once i replace cps.

Damn it. Replaced broken cps with another broken cps. Instead of just flat out dying it's hard to start and I get misfires all the time in VEMS and it won't let me boost. Crazy.
Gotta fix it tomorrow night after work and then head down to the last pre-carlisle Toronto meet!

Chaloux - Something I was experiencing with my G28 and G4 sensor was not that the sensor was intact bad but the shielding was.
I was chasing a hot no start issue for a while, newer sensor did nothing. I ended up popping the hood after having it running and realized that the g28 sensor was laid over one of the ignition wires. This may not be your case, but I would 100% shield both of those sensors and put it in a way where there is no way for it to interfere with anything.
Thanks mage. After putting another cps in we're back to normal.
The meet went good last night! There was a huge turnout. Amazing what some nice(r) weather does.
The only problem is I learned the limits of the catch can setup. It does not like hard right turns, especially while accelerating. I am wondering if there's some sort of baffle I can put in there to slow the oil... But also, if oil totally covers the entire port inside the block from cornering, and I get on the throttle, the pressure in the crank case is going to force the oil out anyway. I guess I just need to be careful with those right handers lol. For now anyway.
All the oil on the driver's side of the car also made something loosen in the suspension. I admit I didn't check everything after the alignment... I'll have to have it realigned now after finding what's loose. I have a feeling it's the lower ball joint again.

Agh wtf. So I hadn't driven the car since Thursday night except to move it in and out of the shop, so small rpm and short run time.
Tonight I picked the car up from the shop and on the way home once it was up to temp I tried to get on it a little, but it just misfired and backfired all crazy like at 3500+rpm. So I just drove home normally and then in the driveway checked to see if launch control somehow enabled itself (nope) or if any other settings had changed since Thursday night where it ran flawlessly. Not as far as I can tell. Took a log and a trigger log and I've attached them both. It seems like in the trigger log it totally drops all trigger, primary and secondary. The log doesn't show much and is just sitting in the driveway out of gear. It does the exact same thing in gear under load and in neutral free revving.
WTF, is this ANOTHER CPS dead? This CPS looked quite new dad said, and came off a car that had only been started/driven a handful of times over the last two years. It was absolutely perfect on Thursday night for a bunch of thrashing. It has pretty much rained straight since then and the car has sat inside and outside, I wonder if it's a moisture thing. I'll try again in the morning and take a look for wet spots anywhere and pull the plugs/check connections. I need this car running perfect for Carlisle!
In other news, thanks to a decent tax return I'm going to use a percentage of it and pick up a Treadstone TRV185 intercooler. It's basically the same dimensions as the CXracing IC i have in there now but I'm sure with a VASTLY superior core. The CXracing unit just isn't cutting it with my 30r. I'm seeing significant rises from ambient and it's absolutely killing my timing as I set my mat/ign retard table pretty aggressive.
Check the wire orientation - I have also read of a scenario where the g28 wiring was shorting in the firewall. Just food for thought - Try moving everything around to see if something "Magically' starts working.
I think I am going to point at the CPS again... but I guess I will check the firewall and all that.
Reason I'm pointing at the CPS again is: this morning, fired the car up to go to work, and I checked to see if it would die out at 4krpm again. Nope, it was good past 5k! So I took off and went to my mother in law's to check out a sump pump problem, then carried onto work. As I tried to get on it on the highway it f'ed up again. So fine when cold, crap when hot. I'm thinking CPS or some other sensor as it heats up. I know the car won't run without the CPS so I think when it dies out at higher RPM the whole ignition system goes weeehoooo. AND these sensors that I'm swapping in are of unknown age/mileage.
Really the only thing that I'm changing is the CPSs. The first one just flat out died and then the car wouldn't start. When it cooled off enough it started again (typical CPS problem). Then I swapped in a known (unknown to me at the time) bad one and it was all crazy with trigger errors at high/low load and rpm (not typical for AAN because the AAN on MOTRONIC only uses the CPS to start, but my VEMS setup uses it as a secondary trigger all the time). Then I swapped in a "good" one, and it was fine for a bit, but then died with usage, but only at high RPMs (also not a typical CPS failure but again, my VEMS is setup differently than an AAN on Motronic).
I have one last sensor to try but I'm almost thinking I'm just going to buy a new one and not have to change it twice.
