ABH to ABZ in a V8Q ??

Post by ejg3855 »

I have most of this cleared up but have a few remaining questions.

Note: Car is 016 Converted.

1. Engine mounts will need to be home brew, correct? I was looking at the bosses on the blocks and they appear to be in a very similar location. I was thinking it would almost be feasible to pull the brackets off the ABH and bolt them to the ABZ, can anyone shed some light on this?

2. For simplicity and cost concerns (early phase) I'd like to run the ABH EMS until I can source something more modern. I've heard that all this requires is swapping the exhaust cams to accomodate the proper location for the dizzy's.

3. Oil Cooler mess, Is it possible to just avoid the ABZ setup all together and pull the ABH parts off and bolt them to ABZ block?

Thanks GUYS!

You'll also either want to run the ABH intake manifold, or rig up some external controller for the ABZ crossover if you're running the ABH ECU.
Even more, you'll probably have to run the ABH intake for the IAC and throttle body too. Not sure if the ABZ stuff could be adapted.

None of that seems to difficult.

Is there an oil cooler solution thats reasonably priced?

I wonder if I could use megasquirt in the future and have one of the outputs run the Abz manifold.
