Time for some upgraded front koni struts. 30% stiffer, 12mm shorter and big bore. Still TBD how all of this works out but I'll share more details after some track time

Are those arms shorter than stock??
I re-indexed or rotated my arms inward to gain tire clearance at the tie rod, I found that it affects the "akerman angle": full lock turns don't feel to good, you can feel one tire is scrubbing quite a bit, otherwise, steering is fine.

Long story short, the #1 Lightweight exhaust lifter failed and screwed up the head just enough to scrap the head. I could easily toss one of my used heads on here and keep trucking, but it's time to move on to a different setup. The good news is the suspension worked great for the 5 laps I got on track!

Yep, 07k. My setup has been one of the most reliable out there, but there are a few upgrades that I have been wanting to do for a while and I figured I might as well do them on an 07k. Going CNC head from Iroz was, and still is really tempting. This is a good opportunity for someone to get a bunch of drop in parts that don't need any custom fab work. Even though the big ticket items are available, it still takes a ton of time and effort to make all of the little supporting items for an 07k.

Now I am just hoping I didn't scare everyone with posting all those parts at once.

Not entirely Matt, as you should understand that making 1 of everything is a good way of going out of business. If yours is ready by march, 10 others well have parts by March. We pretty much have 10 of everything marching in parallel

Absolutely from a production aspect. I wasn't expecting dad's car to be ready by March, when it happens it happens. Less than 4 months? I'm doubtful (and not saying that in a negative way). Carlisle would be nice but we'll see.

Sorry to hear about your motor, Jim...well, kind of ...you needed a little 'push' anyway...

In fact, it was nice to see another failure of the lightweight lifters (in an otherwise well built and tuned motor) that garnered attention earlier this year with Nick's motor. Jeff's analysis certainly showed them to be a weaker design with less material in critical areas, but without some more data points, and ultimately some statistics, it was just academic. Well here's another.

And you were running 7A cams, yes? That also shows it can happen even without the narrow lobes of the CAT billets that Nick was running--another potential contributing factor in his case.

7a cams Chris. I suspect oil starvation had a little to do with it as well. Anyone running a motor at this level is basically getting 0 oil pressure on second gear pulls without an accusump or dry sump. I would be third is an issue in Nicks car too. Mine died out of a second gear rip from on ramp.

Sorry to hear about the valve issue. Really looking forward to 07k time with the banana. Always admired your car for how stable and reliable its been. A true testimony for a swell guy.

Yes, and I still get lifter tick, so without one, I can only imagine!

Sorry to hear about the issues, but it will be great to see what you can do next.
Seeing someone do such an amazing swap is cool but what's really a testament to the quality of the build and tune is, as you mentioned above, putting the miles on it, track time, and having a reliable setup even with that much HP. There are alot of very high HP builds out there that guys have 3 or 5K miles on before they are tearing down and fixing things. What I like to see and what I aspire to build is a setup that I can drive daily and not have an second thought about driving anywhere, With or without tools in the trunk (I made it a block and a half yesterday with tools!!)
So thanks for the inspiration. This is my favorite B3 90/coupe build by far.

Hmm moving to a platform that isn't really proven let alone tried and true from one which is, especially in a car which demands just that is an interesting move...

Best of luck! Hopefully you can help uncover some more of the 07Ks inherent weaknesses so they can be solved promptly for the betterment of the community.

Remember Chris, Jim likely isn't shooting for the uncharted territory of 1000whp. He is meddling in the track beast 550-600whp range and that is a powerlevel being achieved with bolt ons all across the world with stock TTRS bottom ends. That is charted territory

True, but fatigue is my interest, not ultimate failure. How many have seen several years of track use at 500 whp and survived? That's the real question that we don't have an answer to yet.

The ur-motor, as it was built, was not exactly a known value in 2005. Not a direct comparison; more to the point that experimentation is how we achieve progress.
