The boot is torn. I found a guy on the east coast with one but I guess I can also order one from O'Reillys. Yea the black on black avant was in the Seattle area, it came from Montana but the previous owner sold it over here

We actually all have chipped ecus already, thanks though! On Instagram I'm caralynnae_ And Andrew is on there and so is Blake but Alex doesn't have an IG. We were all in the same house, one of us moved out but is over all the time any way and we are all getting another house together again I think so yea it's a lot of Audis in one place! The two avants, the other 200, and the urs4, used to be an allroad and the b5 s4 but Blake sold that. I'm in Oregon right now but will be back next week, let's set something up! Friday's are usually always good.

Drove the avant down to Portland this last week and back, ran really well. One of the days I was down there I did hear some electric buzzing coming from the back and I had a starting issue once (turning over at a normal pace but not starting) so I'm wondering if it might be due for a new fuel pump in the near future, and it would be nice to upgrade regardless. Anyone have any experience installing the Bosch 044 pump?

the 044 might be overkill depending on your needs. An 040, or a pierburg replacement is cheaper and just as effective, unless you're planning on going to a lot more power in the future?

Marc sells Deatschwerks DW300 pumps for a really good price too.

Flows similar to the 044 without the noise.

Not sure about t44 fitment however.

Stock pump is definitely just fine if the price is less than the 044. I made about as much power as nick was making on his 30r when my 200 was on the Holset and stock fuel pump with no pressure issues.

a hear hear for the Deatschwerks. Running that DW300 in my tank, you can only hear it if you are standing outside by the fuel door, and even then its barely audible. Its also a good "futureproof" pump if you ever want to go big turbo ;)

Thanks everybody for the advice! Is there much modification needed for the DW300? I might stay stock after all though too... I do want to go to a bigger turbo but its near the end of a long list that I've been slowly working through. Very slowly.

The Bosch 040 (stock pump) and 044 are very similar in flow and size. I'd get another 040 or 044 depending on price. If you want a killer upgrade, consider a Walbro 450. Relaying/wiring and a custom bracket needed.

Does anyone know any good threads for a vacuum assist brake conversion? I'm trying to decide whether I should go that route or just replace my accumulator. Also both my avant and my roommates 200 are getting pretty squeaky. I'm about ready to get new shocks/springs and all the bushings I can think of. Other advice?

I'm actually planning on doing my suspension as well! I dunno how involved you want to make yours, but here's a mental list for what I've got planned that you can peruse:
- Struts/springs (maybe coilovers?)
- Strut bearings
- Wheel bearings
- Center driveshaft support bearing
- Tie rods ends
- HPR Motor and tranny mounts
- Poly subframe front/rear bushings
- Control arm bushings
- Sway bar bushings
- Rear sway bar?
- Snub mount
- Rear diff mount

I'm interested in seeing what you do with yours! I haven't quite decided where I'll source everything yet, but I'm narrowing it down.

Nice! Seems like a good list. Yea it may take a little but for me to get it all together but I'll post when I do.

Also I finally found a guy with cv axles, and I'm going to need to replace both of mine, but he just told be both the boots are torn. It's an Audi parts junkyard called force 5 auto in New Hampshire. So I don't know how long the cars were driven like that and if damage has already been done to the joint. He wants $75 a piece before shipping, but I'm just not sure whether or not to go for it. It's cheaper/easier than replacing the joints and boots individually on my current axles, but I'm not sure what kind of condition they could be in.
