Dam I'm gonna need to lose my cats and find a 4 wheel dyno around erie.

Ok I'm gonna stick to 12 psi to redline using the aan basemap's timing numbers at first. If I have the DP off this weekend I will be seriously tempted to smash that cat cores to bits and blow them out my 200's ass end

IIRC, the 3b/AAN pistons are forged but they share the same (cast) rods as the 7a.

I freakin know it but understand that 300 chp in my 200 is the quickest car I've ever been in and it's almost enough lol. I was starting to drift it comfortably using the rear axle and just really having a good time with it. I do think 350 wheeeeeel hp will be my sweet spot for it. First gear was so much fun already with the aluminum fw. If I could break the tires loose that would definately be good. When it was extremely cold here in PA over the winter, my tires would scrub I'm first gear as if they were on the cusp of breaking free. It would torque steer pretty bad then too.

Maybe I'll keep my shitty rusty fenders on just a while longer to keep the car's POS status :D

I soaked the turbo center section with PB blaster last night to prepare it. I hope I am able to free all the fasteners on it without busting them or my knuckles. Anyone have any pointers on a tuebo removal? DP and all turbo intake hoses will surely need to come off.

4 hrs of cussing and grease bathing netted me everything off except for the last top oil line on the turdo. Mind you it was a work night and I feel like garbage today from the wrenching. All I want this coming week is an extra 100 whp lol!

Ready to roll on this. Got the baby k24 out early and sourced updated nuts and bolts for the rust crap in there.

I think I'm seeing a threaded hole on the turbonetics housing. I'm assuming it would show pressure instead of vacuum. I grabbed the k24's in hopes that the threads do in fact exist and are identical.

It'll show pressure and vacuum unless I'm not imagining what you're talking about properly.

The port is the reference port for the N75 same as the one on the OEM turbo. Just swap the fitting to the hybrid, and hook it up as normal.

Oh interesting. Well the ports reside in different areas of the compressor housing. On the k26 it doesn't exist. On the 24, it's on the smaller portion of the snail shape lol. On the turbonetics housing it is on the straight section of the housing where the IC clamps to it. I'm having a hard time imagining what sort of pressure it will see under ALL cobditions. Looks important for internally gated turbos from turbonetics which it goes directly to the diaphragm thingy of the gate.

Oh very nice. That's cool that the threads will work. I may hack up the cobra head for stock hose ports or I'll run my catch can to atmosphere *GASP* and the same for my BPV I suppose. At least until I figure it all out. Thanks again all

To take full advantage of the new turbo, you really need to upgrade the intake system. Stock size intake is around 2", this uses a 2.75" inlet. Using a 2" intake will seriously restrict the performance of the turbo. That actually why I had the 3" cobra head for it, plan was to run 3" intake pipeing to keep it from staring the turbo or air.

When the turbo isn't turboing ;) that port will see near as makes no difference the same pressure as any other part of the intake tract will. If you held the compressor wheel from spinning while the car is running it would just keep running like normal. Make more sense if you think about it like that? A turbo just sort of coerces the air to pressurize rather than forcing it to the way a positive displacement pump would (roots supercharger, gear pumps, triplex piston pumps, an internal combustion engine, etc.). The turbo just gets the air going so fast in the outward direction (think of it like centripetal force) that the pressure increases if there is a restriction on the other end. Your engine is that restriction.

Yeesh all my schoolgirl giddiness made me forget the one rule that engines are in vacuum during idle (as well as the restriction tidbit). Haha thanks chris. That's a very good explanation in deed. You've brought me back to reality. The time is near to installation! :drive:

Here's a little info I remember from a while back about the reference port on the comp housing. I'm not entirely certain but I think even at idle there is no vacuum at that port.

I skimmed that but I will read it in etirety at some point. Looks very interesting. Thank you for posting it up :)

ATM I'm a little concerned someone at the harrisburg or erie post office jacked this sizeable package though. I know it's only 1 pm here lol but the regular mail already arrived. I'll practice a few more hours of patience in the meanwhile.

Hmm yes, if the port is at the base of the housing that could cause some differences. I hadn't even considered that. That makes for some good thinking! I was more referring to a tap near compressor outlet.

I'm trying not to butcher the cobra head just yet. Anybody know if I can run without a filter on my 034 BPV if I don't reroute to turbo intake boot? Put in 5 hrs carefully reassembling with the turbo. I don't wanna suck in a bird or anything through the BPV at idle after all that

Shouldn't the BPV naturally be in a closed state?
