1995 90 quattro V6 to 1.8t Conversion
Re: 1995 90 quattro V6 to 1.8t Conversion
Might I suggest looking at the new Borg Warner EFR series turbos... I've been reading a lot of good things...
1995.5 - UrS6A: RS2'd, 7A'd, FMIC'd, BBK, Exhausted, Koni'd
1991 - 200 20v: Eiche Stage 1 chip, Exhausted, Koni'd

I love the EFR turbos, I had the Volvo turbo on my coupe which was my favorite and the predecessor to the EFR series. The issue i have is engine management. No one makes an off the shelf tune for the AEB, and the aeb ecu is limited also for custom tunes. i don't want to go to a stand alone setup on the car.
Re: 1995 90 quattro V6 to 1.8t Conversion
Marc Swanson @ EFI Express might be able to assist with motronic tuning.
I believe he and Hank are working to develop a chip for AAN/EFR combos...

I'd love to see what the a 1.8t b3 could do with a 6758 on meth and e85.

Although the ME5 ECU is limited when comparing it to ME7 stuff, it really is not bad.
I ran an 870cc, V8 MAF, Chris Tapp (Early Eurodyne) tune on my B3 with a 1.8T in it. Ran pretty dang well for a 'box' tune. You can get Maestro for the ECU you have as well.
Come to think of it my buddy still might have that ECU, injectors and MAF. I can ask if its of any interest.

There would be some interest on my part, what turbo were you running?

Id just like to state for the record, these were on my car way before sean even powder coated his:

Honestly i've just been driving it. Got the AC Charged up and have been enjoying nice cool comfortable driving in hot Utah weather... First time i've finished the AC portion of one of my projects. I've put several thousand miles on it and its gone strong without a hiccup.
I did end up getting proper tuning/injectors for the k04 turbo. I'm running the GIAC PC-16 File with bosch red tops. With that it should be right around 200 awhp and 240ish awtq. It still feels slow. I do have a spare block and a set of scat rods that i can throw together, i also scored a cheap gt28 eliminator hotside which should make everything bolt right up to my current setup, but again tuning is a tricky thing for the DBC.

Look into united motorsports. They make a very good big turbo tune for the AEB. With the pro-maf option it makes running high boost very reliable even without a wideband.

This makes me want a white car just so I can rock gold wheels.

good to know, I'm taking this good and slow for now. I should be able to sell my current setup for the cost of the upgrade to the new tune (crossing my fingers)
Re: 1995 90 quattro V6 to 1.8t Conversion
The um tune runs great even for a k04. And add to that efi express is a united Motorsport dealer so you will have a reputable install job.

Dave,
what did you do for the exhaust? did you just tie the new downpipe into the V6 exhaust?
