They're shaped differently to fit different chassis cars(front mount vs. side mount radiator) nothing to do with a difference in oil capacity.

The 200 is back out of storage!

Very excite.

I was then quickly reminded of how much work it needs to be safe/inspectable :shame:

Very not excite.

In an attempt to reduce debts (I'd love to be debt free sooner rather than later) I'm looking at what it would take to get the 200 to a daily driver level of comfort/reliability and drive it year round. This way I can get rid of one of my vehicle debts. I also struggle with the fact that I took a badass winter car and made it a summer only car :bangshead: This beast needs some ice racing!

I've been going through various suspension threads for the T44 chassis and think I have a pretty good list going. My main concern is the rear suspension since the car tends to steer itself from back there now.

-Inner diff bushings: 034 or Bus Depot (uprated vs. stock)
-Outer diff bushings: Apikol or Bus Depot (uprate vs. stock)
-Diff mount: Power Flex or HPR
-Rear LCA Front bushing: Energy
-Rear LCA Inner bushing: ECS
-Rear Subframe: Apikol
-Front ARB bushings: Power Flex
-Front CA: from Just Suspension with stock bushings - I've heard the Power Flex bushings here can snap your ARB?

I'm also toying with the idea of changing my coilovers out. They're just so sub par with the current equipment. Not sure what to do yet, but toying with the idea of seeing if GKR (Giant Killer Racing) can spin me some springs that will match with the stock upper mount (yay bearings!) and coilover seat. We'll see.

Further down the list is modifying the intake to perhaps fit a stock radiator and add an ISV so that I can get Air Conditioning once again.

Whew. This is going to be a lot of work. Really don't want to sell the car though. I don't owe any money on it and certainly could not justify picking up something equally as quick.

#carproblems

Needed to vent. Anyone have other suggestions for the above parts?

I realize there aren't any pics or videos so I'll get on that.

I think if you haven't already done sway bar bushings, they might just blow your mind when cornering even new OEM ones!

Hope you get everything ironed out, make decisions quick and get to work faster. Put the parts in and keep moving! (I need to take my own advice)

Re: Casey's 200 20v: Leak down FTL

Post by WOMBAT »

Hey everyone! This thread has been quiet for some time because I've been waiting to do the leak down test. My head has been spinning with all the things I want to do, but I haven't executed anything because it's all for nothing if the engine isn't healthy.

About 2 years ago I started having a starting issue which I'm surmising gave me several cylinder wall wash downs. My symptoms of excessive blow-by started shortly after that issue started. Here are the numbers I found yesterday:

Cylinder
1. 22%
2. 19%
3. 36%
4. 26%
5. 36%

Looks like she will need some rings at least, but I won't know for sure until I tear it down. Still driving it daily though, so I'll need to find a new daily beater.

Anyone have a daily beater for around the $2000 mark?

Good friends are awesome.

Was offered a buddy's personal vehicle to use during the repair since he took a company vehicle recently. Such win. Thanks to those who responded to my plea!

FS: $4,500 Casey's 200 20v

Post by WOMBAT »

Price is $4,500 as-is. Let's get this a new home.

Got my laptop back today. Here's the ad!

Hey everyone! I’ve decided that it’s time for the 200 to find its next home. I have had a blast with this car and I hope someone can continue the good times. Here’s a list of what makes up this build:

Exterior:
• V8 quattro front bumper
• E-Code headlights with relayed harness
• V8 quattro tail lights

Interior
• Nardi steering wheel and hub adapter
• VEMS LCD screen mounted in former coin tray location
• Gauge bezels from C4 A6
• Refinished wooden shift knob
• VDO boost gauge mounted in left-most vent

Suspension
• Ground control coil over kit with 450# front springs and 400# rear springs
• Bilstein sport shocks
• Powerflex front sway bar bushings
• New stock front subframe bushings (uninstalled)
• New front control arms
• Powerflex rear diff mount
• Energy suspension rear trap bushings
• Apikol rear subframe bushings (uninstalled)
• New stock rear outer control arm bushings (uninstalled)
• AP Racing 4-pot front brakes and 2 piece rotor
• 17x9 et24 Saleen Motorsport replica wheels (M14 to M12 studs and wobble nuts)

Engine (12k miles)
• VEMS Plug and Play ECU
• 24psi tune
• 034 coated main bearings
• ARP main studs
• SCAT connecting rods
• OEM rod bearings
• Multi-layer compression dropping head gasket
• ARP head studs
• 7A cams
• Phenolic intake spacer
• Iroz Motorsport intake manifold
• 870cc Siemens Deka Injectors
• Bosch 044 fuel pump
• Custom FMIC with 3” plumbing
• Epic ebay exhaust manifold with T3 flange tig’d on
• Biagio GT35 journal bearing turbo 0.82 A/R
• AN oil supply and return
• EFI Express boost control solenoid
• 4” HKS Filter
• 3” turbo back exhaust with cat (hollow) and single muffler
• 034 High-Output coil kit
• TAP strut bar
• Griffin radiator

The car has been perfectly reliable since the build. I have recently done a leakdown test and the results are not good. They are:
Cyl 1: 22%
Cyl 2: 19%
Cyl 3: 36%
Cyl 4: 26%
Cyl 5: 36%

The motor will need to have this addressed, but in the meantime it starts, runs, and drives and does not burn any oil. 24psi feels awesome too, but you’ll need to be sure to empty the catch can after spirited driving because of the leakdown.
There is an issue with the starter and flywheel where the starter will disengage mid start. I have had the starter out of the car and rebuilt so I know it is ok. Inspecting the flywheel while still in the car didn’t reveal anything to me, but I would check it with either the motor or trans removed.

This car has placed well at shows and it a hell of a good time!

There’s plenty more, but I’ll let that come through conversations with interested people.

Please do not ask for parts, THIS CAR WILL NOT BE PARTED. Please do not lowball, this car does not need to sell, I want it to sell.
The price is set at $4,500.

Thanks for looking!
