Lol. That's awesome. So this is stock cams right, not ttrs?

So to really take advantage, cams, springs, and not 91 octane is recommended. Or perhaps a little lower cr than ~9.1:1.

Head is bone stock. The idea was to get everything running and sorted and see where it ended up on pump. It needs some help. As well as it breaths the cams are a pretty bad match for this turbo.

I installed the stiffest wastegate setup tonight, should be good for base pressure of 20 psi or so, Boost is still falling off pretty bad. Classic crappy cams. I have to say though, if I could get the car as fast as it is now with E40 in the tank on regular pump and water/meth, I might be able to leave well enough alone for a while longer. It is one hell of a lot of fun right now!

Now, how to feed and correctly scale a 6th injector in VEMS...

Jim Green's 90q 20vt - 600whp 07k build

Post by audifreakjim »

I have been traveling for work so have not had much play time, but... I had the car out the other day and the wastegate stuck shut because I didn't reassemble it correctly. Let's just say at 34 psi on E40 is freaken awesome. The car absolutely came alive.

Just ordered a flex fuel sensor from Marc and am going to set this up so I can toss in e85 when I can.

It wasn't detonating and fuel ratio was close enough so I had a little fun with it. Ok lots of fun:)

Seriously. It's not a bad deal. Just a little goes a long way. Makes dealing with injectors and fuel pumps much easier, and a few 5 gallon jugs will go a long way.

Car had been down for a week or so getting shrouding around the radiator and oil cooler for the track. Also fixed the transmission linkage and dump valve.

Took it out on just waste gate spring pressure. 18psi in 3rd by 3800 rpms. With the valve dump valve working now it sounds freaken nutty.

I also have the water injection working off another vems channel. Total I was seeing about 600 cc/min so this should be a good match for 1100cc injectors running at about 60% Duty cycle

Finally, the flex fuel sensor from Marc showed up today so now I can reproduce exactly what's in the tank and not play guessing games. As usual with everything from Marc, everything is spot on for what you need to install it. Image

Loving this thing.

That shrouding looks great.

How do you match w/m injection quantity to injectors? I'll have to do more reading on ideal ratios and stuff.

I have found 20% water to fuel ratio to work well in the past. Easy on 5 cyl, just match up your nozzle size to your injector size.

running the w/m through an "injector" or just pwm the pump with an atomizer tip at the end of the line?

Aquamist nozzles controlled by their fast acting valve that is connected to an injector channel. Basically an over complicated injector.

Jim Green's 90q 20vt - 600whp 07k build

Been messing with anytrim with vems. This is so badass, pretty much the best water injection setup I can think of.

I feed the output of the AEM Failsafe flow meter into vems and have it adding duty cycle to the wgfv. This bumps you up into the next range of load cells that have the extra timing required with the water injection. Wastegate only and no water is 240kpa. With water 280kpa and much better timing.

It's as failsafe as you can get. No water flow, no extra boost or timing. Extra water flow like if one of the lines to a nozzle broke would also disable higher boost.

In all the years I have been messing with water injection, I have never had it so smooth and so knock free.

I'm going to try getting the midrange up to 30 psi next weekend, but tomorrow it's off to the track :)
