5000/200 euro headlight owners!
5000/200 euro headlight owners!
I am putting this as an offer for the type 44 European headlight owners... It is replacement lenses for the E-code headlights. These are clear without the diffussing built in. So what is special about these is that you can do the projector retrofit without the diffusing breaking them up... Or they can be a replacement for your rock chipped E-code lights. I spent tons of hours sanding and polishing the glass diffussing out of my lenses and if it breaks, I am F'D. These are ready to go. I didn't want to advertise these until I knew I could get them. My mother-n-law has my pair in her hands and will be flying from Ukraine on December 9th to bring them. I don't have time to write how difficult it was and the "red tape" and conflict between Russia and Ukraine , and passport issues, and foreign bank deposit issues to get these but I will be selling them for $150 per set. Just wanted to know if anyone wanted a set as I still have about about two weeks for her to be able to get a couple more sets. She is willing to bring a couple of sets in her checked luggage.
Here is the picture she sent. Let me know if anyone wants a set. Pass the word to 5000 and 200 owners as my mother-n-law only comes every other year.

Hey Josh! Are these available yet? I may be interested in a set or two if available. I just retro'd my Avant lights too.
Re: 5000/200 euro headlight owners!
My mother-n-law gets here on Wednesday and leaving Ukraine on Tuesday which is basically late tomorrow for us. There is not enough time to get a set this time around. I was trying to drumb up some interest to see how many sets she needed to bring with her but no one was interested. It took us about a month of dealing with a jack ass in Russia that I believe is actually from Chechnya. I can get you a set or too when my father-n-law comes or when I go back.

This website sells them and appears to ship to the U.S.
Also looks like they have c4, b2, and b4 lenses.

Sweet. Hopefully there is no trouble through that site. I had tons of trouble with payment, shipping, and requirement of a Russian passport. Maybe this site is easier to deal with.
Re: 5000/200 euro headlight owners!
Those are plastic and intended only for going over the stock headlights

It says on their site that they're polycarbonate lenses for use with their projector retrofits...

Probably made by the same place that the lenses in the original post were.
Re: 5000/200 euro headlight owners!
Sorry, I meant to say they are intended to go over glass (stock or otherwise).

Re: 5000/200 euro headlight owners!
I don't think so, I think they're poly replacement lenses. Selling headlight covers to accompany projector conversions wouldn't make much sense. Also says the t44 ones are 4mm thick.
Re: 5000/200 euro headlight owners!
I finally have them in hand.
These are not covers or over lays... They were made as a lens replacement for the guys who do H.I.D. Conversions. They are 4mm thick.
First impression...
Very clear, lightweight, a little flimsy/flexible but do stiffen up once the clips are on. They seem to be an exact replica as far as shape and contour. The edge lines up perfectly and makes a great seal on the factory gasket.
I have decided to modify my orange side marker to now work with the e-code headlight. I'm not sure if I will make it a turn signal or keep it as a running light. But I kind of like the look and functionality better.
So in the end... This is what I will have for front lights....
1. Clear 20v fender marker/running light
2. Amber LED turn signal hidden inside head light bucket
3. White halo around projector as a running light
4. H.I.D D2S projector headlight with high/low beam
5. 100 watt high beams
6. H.I.D projector fog light in super rare French V8 fog lights
7. CAC clear turn signal/running light for V8 bumper with Amber bulb
Only thing I need to keep an eye on is the temperature of the 100 watt "Q" beams for highs. There seems to be a good distance from lens but may have to keep an eye on it or drop down to 55 watt bulbs. That should take care of the front lights.

Re: 5000/200 euro headlight owners!
I guess the cover thing was lost in translation. Very cool that it's a replacement. I wish it was glass, but depending on the price of these, plastic isn't bad. It would be very easy to make more vacuum formed versions of these if needed.
I love the look of your retrofits. I'm jealous and would love to have a set.
