It was a somber day to see it go, He was a good car.

The new owner should get many more years of enjoyment out of it. He got it for a very fair price considering how much it had been modified.

Now with the new project. I promised myself I would not start another project thread until the 90 sold.

The new project is a 2004 A4 Quattro Ultrasport with a 6spd manual, 1.8t.

I then got a set of wheels from a friend. got a pair of S4 mirror housings, and S4 brakes with cross drilled and slotted rotors and EBC Red pads.

I have had this car a year in January. During the summer I found the turbo was whining a bit more than it should, so I pulled the inlet hose and found this.

I figured now was a good time to upgrade. bought a K04 from EBAY and did not know I had bought the wrong model. Soooo, I in my ususal fashion, did some modifications. I took the center and compressor side from the K04 and the turbine and hot side from the K03 and put them together. I did have to cut and weld the compressor housing so that it would work.

ever since the repair the turbo has been running fine. I did upgrade the tune to GIAC stage 2 before the turbo fiasco, so it seems to pull ok'ish for being a hybrid. I do plan to go full K04 upgrade in the future and upgrade the tune, but was told that it wouldnt work very well without an upgraded innercooler to help with the heat. the stock does not have the guts to pull it off, so I have plans to do a bigger dual setup on both corners of the bumper instead of the one stock unit. that is to come in the future if I can pull it off before my dad sells his house.

A few days ago I got a full set of S4 seats in ok condition. I have found the only big problem with them is the drivers seat heaters bottom and back pad do not work. I am in the process of figuring out what to do to fix it.

So far the greatest convenience upgrade I have made so far was a pioneer flagship touchscreen NAVI/Media center. I found that it is capable of playing multi variations of file type, and interestingly it does accept a 2TB portable HD. I now have a media system that holds my whole music library, and half of my movie library (1500 movies) at the touch of my fingers.

Wow, really nice. I did something similar in selling my 90 and picked up an A4 (a more boring B5 V6 though). Looking forward to updates here!

The seats look great! When does the 07k get swapped in?

Thanks! They certainly feel better than base model seats. I wish I had disposable income to do an 07k swap and be able to get around OBD2 compliance, but thats not in the cards for an 04 unless I buy property outside of the emissions boundaries. That however, is in the next few years plans. Im hoping to take a run of 3 or 4 months of field service for the company I work for. If that happens, it should yield a chunk of money to put down on a proper house with room for a workshop and a full sized lift.

I will certainly be updating what happens with the mods on this car. I have grand plans for the innercooler setup that should look and work amazing.

The newer car came to a bridge, and I crossed it.

I also have replaced the ignition switch due to intermittent no start problems. there isnt one Audi I've owned that I haven't replaced the ignition switch at least once. At least the failures are commonly predictable.

And now have S4 brakes with EBC Red pads and crossdrilled and slotted rotors all the way around now.

Yes, I know that is bad curb rash, not my doing. Previous owners must have been a girl since I found an imagine dragons CD and candy in the under seat cubby's that nobody seems to know exists including my brother.

The car is really coming together nicely. Now the only thing on the to do list is to replace the noisy when you first start it up cam adjuster. That is the only thing that has me worried about longevity in the short term.

Those under seat cubby's are worth their weight in gold!

I was in Pittsburgh after I bought my B6 and met up with the Audizine crew (great group of people). One guy was rolling around with a pistol tucked away under his seat. Lol of all the things to keep handy, yet out of sight, because 'Murica.
