That intercooler is nice, did you get it custom made or is that an off the shelf bit?

dunno, says "god speed" on it, bought it on ebay and its identical in every way to the treadstone unit.

Good progress today on intercooler fitment. got the bracketry setup, and tack welded most of the pipes I need. I'll need to order a new hose for the turbo outlet on the passenger side but I should be all set on aluminum pipe (bought extra last time):

YESSSSSSS. that's the exact same setup we're gonna be doin' on my buddies CQ. he bought his IC last year though and we've been slowly collecting all the parts to do the job. expect a 3.6tt CQ clone of this car this summer sometime from the bowels of salem,OR :P

Yes, nice beads there!

Good move changing the setup looks like it will be neater and more effective than 2 units...

aim dash gets to go back for repairs, looks like it might be an issue with the USB jack on the dash itself. Boooooooo.

aim dash is back, nothing wrong with it :wtf:

Brought the dash inside and rigged up power and ground wires for it and powered it up with my bench top 12v power supply.. hooked up usb to my desktop and voila. So something about both of my laptops made them unable to talk via USB to the dash. no idea whats up with that.. but anyway I got the new fuel level settings burned into the dash, sure enough, I see 14 gallons on the display with the car sitting in the driveway which sounds about right. We'll see how steady it is though while driving..

Good news that there was nothing wrong with it, too bad you had to send it in to find out...

Mark,

I'm gonna guess you are running Windows as your OS.

It's pretty common if your hard drive gets fragmented for the USB ports to cause problems.

Try defragging your laptops and I bet the laptops can communicate via
USB to your dash.

Peter @ tdiparts reminded me that July 8th/9th is a COMSCC event at NHMS. I've been putting in a few too many 18 hour work days so it would be nice to put that aside for a day or two of quality track time :)

that would be a great event to stretch its legs given the rule changes COM recently made. You should contact them asap tho as you may be SOL as the NHMS events tend to sell out as soon as they open rego

Lmk if you want a co-driver ;p

Niiice intercooler setup.

That thing should flow like mad!

I don't understand why more people don't fit vertical flow intercoolers like that. They can flow so much more for the same core size.
