Do you think the bushings would've seen scoring if the nut was tight enough to prevent catastrophic compressor damage? There was only a very slight grazing on one side of the comp cover on the ID. It would be easy to replace them at this point but it sucks. A whole rebuild kit shot would be the icing here lol

Back together and butter-smooth. Night and day difference in threading that Sucker on there. Really put the torque to it this time... erm the CORRECT torque. I always find it interesting that Holset recommends using the loctite as a lubricant between the nut and top of comp wheel. Brilliant lol

Well, it is a lubricant and it is very important to have a known coefficient of friction between the clamping surfaces. There is no way of determining the correct torque otherwise. Holset has great engineering becuase they think about the practical side of things in addition to the crucial engineering.

I do a lot of torquing and tensioning on pressure connections as routine duty in my trade.

You can lose up to 90% of your torque value due to friction if not lubricated properly (or at all).

Yeesh! I blame that stupid 6 pt nut. I remember thinking it couldn't possibly be right but I'm an idiot on occasion. The comp wheel it came with wasn't very smooth anyway. I figure this mistake is for the best.

You know what they say: The problem is a loose nut behind the wheel :D Anyways, I'm late to the party, but your car sounds awesome!

Thanks Sven, I think it sounds amazing too :)
It's like a human whistle under bridges. So ear-piercing! Scare the feces out of pedestrians.

I'm starting to think that the log I posted of the lean launch control with backfire is actually a data plot of what you see when your compressor wheel comes loose and spins separately, then contacts the housing enough to jar it tight again. History made :D I had a bad feeling when I heard and saw that happening

We had a car's & coffee gathering today and the sleeper 200 got praise from all! They loved how unassuming it looked until a peak under the bonnet :) that was a great gathering. I even learned what boost slap is lol. They said my turbo was THE LOUDEST they'd ever heard in person. Gave up my 710 DV hack for "industrial-grade, work-injury inducing, pressure discharges" bahahah! So much fun :)

You going to have to explain to me why you ever felt the need to go larger lol. You're a big reason I got this far Chris. I always give credit where it's due :)

Look what I did! PID varies the max between 260 and 270 kPa. Between 13 and 14 degrees really punches me in the d##k in an enjoyable manner.

His video is worth a watch that documents the cruise. There's even a nice pass with audio (instead of tunes) of my car at :45. My brother has the tuned red m3 convertible. Give it a look:

OMG finally a nice picture! More please.

Why did I go larger? I don't know, I guess I'm just power hungry? I think the ideal setup for my car as a daily driver/toy would have been like Matt Sgambelluri's car. That's a retarded setup for the street. But, I had dreams of 10k RPM and a turbo that wouldn't choke up there, so here I am :)

I enjoy pulling to 8300. That's pretty nice. 10k is hard to imagine lol.

I could've driven OVER some of those cars hah. That shot is from the erie Peninsula where alot of people like to drive while smoking pot. Hell I was one of them about 10 yrs ago :) Anyway, there's 2 massive speed bumps coming onto the PI that they all had to swerve and go diagonal over while stopping traffic. I practically ramped over that shot lol. "Stilts stance" baby!

lol ground clearance does have its merits.

You have more balls than me to be revving to 8300 on a stock head. 8k is my personal limit until valve springs at least.

Looking good! I think these cars wear dark colors best. Excepting pearl white, of course! I have daydreams about painting one these in a shade somewhere between santorin and sepang blue. Anyways, I agree with Chris; more pics!

Don't forget, the cruise ship suspension has the added benefit of pointing the nose at the moon, so it feels even faster!

THANK YOU CHRIS! Awesome deal man. They're in and I'm driving with the auto-tune going after I changed the e tire VE table to as close as possible judging by idle. Wooo! 1200cc FID injectors

Awesome on the new injectors tho

I used to have great luck with it.
Lately though, it will set some cells perfectly, and then others it will set like 20 points off from where it should be, and in random places.
So random parts of the map will be way off. Sucks.
