Went to 40's and had a great time as always on Saturday. Today cooked every meal for the wife and dealt with the daughter all day. When they napped, I had some time to work on installing OEM JD headlights on my lawn tractor and crossing a few small things off the MR2 list.

today...... hmmm.
got momma breakfast in bed, flowers, balloon and cake.
sat in the hot tub a couple times, took a nap, mowed the whole yard, unloaded the car and dissected the shifter linkage to repair/improve it. it was having a hard time staying put when testing friday, did run 10.73 @ 97 and coasting from before the 1/8th mile though, which is pretty good for a soft launch. the shifter portion made all the shifts perfectly, but when it over threw going 1-2 it loosened the set screw on the linkage to rod, and when it went from 3-4 it went on the shifter but not the linkage at the trans. a fix is in the works, just gotta wait til i get down to the shop and hit the mill. i should just buy myself a small mill now, been looking at them lately......

and yesterday we finally put the new car on the ground after being on the chassis jig for the last 26 months minus one day to show it at the car show in 2014. ProMod car needs to be on the chassis jig so off I go.
but leaving the rear quarters in place in relation to the rear of the car and opening them 4" forward makes the rear look proportional. the fronts, look way better (IMHO) with the arches moved forward. makes it look more even with closer to equal space in front of and behind the wheel well / arch. and lengthening the wheelbase as well. makes it have more of a BMW look on the front end without so much body out in front of the arch.

Current one and new one, showing body changes. Specifically wheel arches and location of arches.

Let me guess, they're blaming the shipping department...
I have a Mann Provent somewhere in the trunk which I can't open at the moment... So I might need to actually take you up on that offer if I can't figure out how to open my trunk using an alternate way...

Got the Ducati put back together and fired up...sounds great so I guess that means I didn't screw up the timing belt or valve adjustment
Thankfully all of the rockers were in spec so I didn't have to swap shims or anything.

managed to make a catch can for my catch can yesterday.
As an FYI
the mann provent should never be used without a drain back to the block, or without a drain to another can. Not sure how I managed this long without one.
Also, I hate the stock PCV routing on these cars. Fills a provent on 2 pulls, and I dont even have bad rings.

yeah but that 30" x 13.50 drag radial tire, 315/60-15 (which happens to be the LARGEST tire on a CQ BTW) is my training tire. i will go up to a 32 x 14 on a 14" wheel or maybe even 33 x 10.5W when i learn how to drive.
this is 32 x 14.

which looks like this if it isnt tucked under the body. if that aint enough nothing ever will be.

Re: What did you do today? *Sticky?*
Those tires look like crankshaft twisters!

Yes it was.

Last night I drove an hour to pick up volvo load bars from a guy that did not list them correctly. They were a smooth top V70. Ugh. Time I cannot get back

Re: What did you do today? *Sticky?*
got my care package for the touareg tdi, glad they're making us happy. I'm a tad worried about losing performance.
I've worked the most this week in years (a whopping 64hrs this week and 46hrs last week) so next paycheck will be helpful.
Took out a big loan to consolidate a couple small loans plus some extra so i can buy some car parts. If i can pay it off quickly there's another car in my future with some flare.
tomorrow shall be a good day filled with updates i hope.

finally washed my A8L. Man it needed it. Wish I had the time (and energy) to detail the whole thing. I did not even get it to summer mode yet.
Also spent a bunch of time working towards getting my new server PC to match my carbonite back up (hard drive locations matching what needs to be there to not upload thousands of images that are already there...).
I was supposed to get all of the leaves off of my pool cover, but meh. I will struggle with that tomorrow. Was very humid and hot this weekend.

Probably won't be able to work on any cars for a few weeks since I have a new attention hog.
Picked up our Great Dane pup Lola on Monday. 7.5 weeks old and 18lbs. First night was pretty rough as I had to sleep on the floor right next to her crate, but last night went much better with us playing a 12hr long heartbeat Youtube video on a tablet next to her crate. Won't be able to pick her up for much longer I'm sure. Her mom is 140lb and her dad 180lb.

Buttonwillow the weekend before thanksgiving! That's probably the next time I will be out:) I'll see you at BBQ before that at least, but we should get together soon anyways.
