WTB 4kq prop shaft

Post by DE80q »

Looking for the final piece of the 01E install. I'm in need of a 4kq prop shaft. I'm located in South Central PA, and local pickup would be awesome, but would also be willing to ship in. Please let me know what you have.

Thanks

There's a 4000 in my local yard but it's on the ground. Not on stands. I would have had one for you

FYI. Ur quattro driveshaft works too. Same length as a 4000q & slightly larger in diameter.

What about shortening the front half and having it all balanced?

Asking for a friend. :hide:

I would only imagine finding a UrQ shaft would be even harder than a 4k shaft, but good info to have. Thanks Chris.

As for shortening the shaft, if you have an early all steel shaft, you can do that. I have a late build, so it has the carbon shaft.

Thanks Dana, but I actually have a really nice condition all steel shaft. I just would rather not cut it up it I don't have to.

another thing you can do is just use the CQ driveshaft. i didnt think about this when i did mine as i was learning the Audi cars completely at the time.

BUT

it would require some fab work on the mounts, but move the diff rearward in the subframe. when i put forged control arms on the rear of mine, i used the offset bushings to move the subframe then put the diff back to where it was by modifying the mounts.

just a thought
