Totally understand! If you're worried you could pull a degree or two from the whole map (except at idle) but honestly I bet it'll run just fine as is.

Good luck and keep the updates coming, good to see this car continuing to get the love it deserves :D

Bill's 200 20v, ign tuning help needed

It's alive, I think there's a problem with the lifters somewhere. The head seems very loud

That’s normal, it’s because they are not full of oil yet. They will quite down over time. Usually after some decent revs.

I am assuming you have good oil pressure. Above 3 bar when hot?

Yup - as long as there's good oil pressure, I wouldn't worry about that too much just yet.

Yea, it got quieter today when started, but the PS pump was leaking pretty bad still. I switched the high pressure ports over to copper washers this winter but it still leaks bad. Looks like it will be coming back out. Glad I got the 5l jug of 11s.

The serial to USB cable is way to short so i purchased a 5 ft well reviewed USb extension and finally was able to get the VEMS file off of the car. I have only ever used megasquirt in the past, VEMS seems to be great.
Here is the log file, i still need to learn a bit more about it.

update time, today i put the car back on the ground. It is running, not leaking oil or coolant and hopefully no 'green gold' I had replaced 2 of the 8 washers with copper this past winter as it had developed a leak in the rebuilt pump and i had read that the copper washers were the best long term solution as the rubber ones always leak.....i should have replaced all of them as i had to take it back out and do the other six due to it still leaking. I ran it a bit tonite and it seems to have stopped, but only time will tell.... here are some photos of it w/o a bumper to go for a short ride up and down the street tomorrow just to make sure everything is good before i button everything up...... there are some log in problems on tapatalk but once i get on i will put up the photos

so after multiple coolant leaks to repair the car is finally running good, tuning will be next on that front. I did a oil change, its been probably 20min of run time, here is the magnetic drain plug. im glad i got it...

Tonight i tried to get the bumper back on, it is going to be a challenge. the metal brace for the IC didnt lign up that well when i put it back on this winter, it seemed to warp a bit, but it bolted on. Today the bumper shocks wont even fit into the holes, i had to use a ratchet strap to pull them in and then give it a good shove to get it started.

none of the bolts lign up well enough to bolt up and it seems to be shifted pretty far to the drivers side..

ok, been a while so another update:

car is running good, although it wasnt at first. as it turns out cyl #3's injector was not firing. when i pulled the plugs in an attempt to read them the #3 still looked brand new while the others looked normal. Tested for spark and it was a go, pulled the injector plug and the inner purpley thing that holds the wire pig tales apart was broken apart. There was another unused plug i noticed when i pulled the motor that i tracked down and removed to harvest the broken part from. it was difficult to remove the wires from the piece but they came out with minimal damage to the part it needed. Here is a photo of the doner plug with the broken piece from the injector plug.

now the car is running much better now that is on all 5 again :) pulls pretty well although i am not getting on it much as the bottom end is still in 'break in' mode.i changed the oil after the first 5 min or so of run time then again tonite after about 80 miles or so. All in all im glad to have it back on the road again, although it may be going up for sale soon as i need a new roof on my house, and the audi is the first on the list of things to be liquidated, id really rather not sell as soon as it is back on the road but time will tell.....

Well I'll be taking it to get inspected soon, rear bushings and no alignment equal bald inner tires. Enter the tires/rims that came with my euro van. Really doesn't look as good with them but it is inspectable Image

pretty well, had some oil leaking from near alternator, but seems to be better after tightening up the turbo return line. The pressure sender is still leaking but that will have to wait till next oil change. Overall runs great, still on break in for another few hundred miles then will try to tune it/ get on it a bit more.... :)

still tracking down this small oil leak. Trying to get a photo of it. Originally thought it was from the catch can return line which could be a small part, but every time I checked I see oil near where the head meets the block and there is oil in the bracket for the alternator. This is the photo Image

You can see the flat surface with the small Mark is the block, this is where the oil usually collects. And you can see the bracket for the alternator with the oil puddle. No oil in the coolant, only seems to be seeping slowly from there.....

Hey Bill, get a UV dye kit to help diagnose where it is coming from. My bet is the valve cover gasket. Give it a good clean, then add the dye and keep an eye on it.

Well, a lot has changed in my life since i was blessed with this 200 20v, now that i am a father to 4 kids and own a house that needs a roof i was thinking if i would be able to keep the 200. I did not want to let it go. I prayed about it, then Paul called me (inline560) and wanted to fly out from texas and get it..... well i guess that is the answer to my prayer, not exactly the answer i was looking for but if it is God's will then I will pass it on....
Paul didnt want the S4 seats so tonite i took them out and put the stock comfort seats back in....I will definitely miss this car...

Well shoot, I’m sorry to hear it’s on its way out but happy to hear it’s headed to another enthusiast!

This just popped up - 6 years ago, it was logging its first miles! Miss this thing..
