The bottom fill pieces had to get cut and extended on both sides by a 1/4 of an inch. Don't know what happened there ?

Have to get a new body saw as mine stopped working, so I can cut the wheel well and frame that in. :hammer:

There is only two to three feet of room on each side of the car ,which makes it hard for side shots. Car should get moved in the next three weeks. I will take pictures at that point from further away. I cant wait myself to get it out of the garage and look at it from a distance.

With stuff that needed done around the house and maintenance on the daily drivers, only thing I got done was getting some panels on the doors to make the transition from the rear of the door to the Rad air intake looking better. Also that covered up the indent and the holes for the door bumper/trim.

Both sides look like this now.

Rad intakes are fully welded and seam sealed, fuel filler housing is welded in so at this point there are no " unwanted " holes in the car. Will have to make a adapter for the fuel nozzle to reach as I was unwilling to cut and weld the stock tank. Speaking of tank, you guys remember the battery tray few pages back ? Well on one side I had 1/4 inch interference that could have been made to work but the tank would have ended up hovering over the BAT terminals by 1/2 inch not to mention that the tank would have to come out for BAT replacement. Yup that BAT mount got razzzzzzzzzzzzzzzed. So far the only hiccup although I am fixing to give the Radiator more room, wich is currently occupied by the muffler and exhaust tip so exhaust routing will be interesting when I get there.

This is so much better than a 944 + S1 evo, I might puke. Looks the business, can't wait to see the finished product (especially updates on the battery entanglements)!

Wow, Thanks for the pat on the back. S1 evo is a high bar to match, I don't think I can get there but it sure had a huge influence in the way the car is shaped in the rear along with the Pikes Peak version wich is my favorite. Will keep you posted of battery space issues. Looks like that was just as well as the exhaust could use that space to exit the rear of the car next to the box I just made for the radiator.

That's all welded in and clad with sheet metal but the rear of the box to make Rad mounting and welding easier. Making a tube so the way out for the exhaust can get done. When that is complete I will move on to the rear wheel arches/inner wheel house.

Will have to make a piece to bring the lip all the way down to the rockers, but at least I did not have to make the whole thing.
Just some cutting and trimming of the stock audi one.

Inner rear wheel well with one coat of primer and seam seal ,needing on more coat of each and then paint. After that probably some rubberized undercoating.

Made the wheel lip extensions and started to smooth the sides for that wrinkle free lock.

Once that is done I will do the tops and then back to radiator mounting as I managed to prime and seam seal rad. box and exhaust outlet also.

PRY4SNO this is the area of entanglement. Like I mentioned before this could have been made to work but having to take out the tank and rear Rad. ducting to change the battery was not going to happen. Also having the battery terminals 1/2 inch below the fuel tank made no sense.
This could have been avoided had I not assumed that the tank followed the bumper mount rail like on the other side of tank. ( Should have looked at tank before making the mount for battery ) :shame:

This project...wow! Mike, the work you have put into this is nothing short of impressive. Are you also working on the engine on the side yet? I am interested to see more of the 24 volt electric turbo spool up system you are thinking of? Oh and heads up on the Samurai in the background, very fun NW'st vehicle to have. You seem like a well rounded lunatic with the go slow and go fast choices...

What about remote mounting terminals to somewhere more convenient for boosting purposes?

Thanks: Yes that would have been an option, but tank would still have to come out for battery replacement.

Have been making some progress on the radiator mounting and ducting but no pics yet. Stay tuned.

After getting the floor of the ducting tacked in I had some hard targets and was able to finish the mounting for the radiator. Made a frame for the radiator and fan shroud and mounted that to the floor of the radiator box.
