Downpipes pretty close to done. Got them past the steering and past the axle. Hard part is over!

So I have an 80q, and I'm getting some cavitation issues at my fuel pump. I suspect that my tank outlet(the nipple you cut off) is somehow obstructed, but when I removed the tank to check, I found the outlet is hidden behind some baffling, so I can't see anything from the inside.

So can you tell me what the other side of the outlet nipple that you cut out looks like? Was there some sort of sock, or screen, or filter or something? You'd be a lifesaver! Thanks!

Sorry man I don't -- I have replaced one before but that was nearly a decade ago :( -- clutch is in and trans is on etc now.

Other than that, no updates for a month or so. I'm out of the country for another month, but am definitely itching for spring....

Well, was not around the car for a bit more than a month and finally got around to trying out my new tig welder.

Made some turbo inlet pipes, which alone are supposed to free up about 60whp.

Then finished up the Downpipes. This was quite a pain, I actually ended up running the passenger side turbo Downpipes under the transmission and down the drivers side of the trans. There just wasn’t enough room with keeping ground clearance for both to make the turn by the axle on the passenger side. More bends than I wanted, I think this should work out well though.

More exhaust fab to come. Almost mated to the x-pipe under the driveshaft at this point.

Installed my AIM MXS Strada dashboard today, going to work on making a nice dash bezel for it to go into. Also need to figure out the turn signals, theyre the only thing I cant get to work without the cluster. Cant seem to figure out how they were triggering a relay inside the cluster. Any insight??

Image

ALso, downpipes complete with x-pipe right behind the trans before the center bearing. (SOUND UP!!!) -- resonators and mufflers are next, but I will probably make the diff carrier for the b7 rear diff before I do that so I have a little more room for piping to get through.

Good progress! I think it sounds real nasty in the higher revs.

Unfortunately I’m not the one who designed that ungodly sound. Sounds even more amazing with resonators in the middle.

Some newer dashes require a ground rather than power to initiate the display... have you tried that?

I can get the blinker/hazard light to light up in the dash no problem, but the actual blinkers don't work. I've tried both a 2 and 3-pin relay but can't seem to figure out where the blinker signal is sourced from. I figured the relay under the dash was the blinker relay but there was clearly something within the instrument cluster, not just a blinker light in there.

Ahh okay, misunderstood. That was my quick thought without a manual in front of me...

Yeah, I've chased the wiring diagrams, I just can't quite figure out where the signal originaltes from. I assume its through the switch, but mine only has 5-6 volts, so it can't trigger a relay. I'm trying a new turn signal switch, but mine works fine with the cluster in.

Audi certainly has a habit of having rather sophisticated wiring!! A possible solution would be to have the signal light switch go to ground when engaged and use that to control a relay. That would mean cutting into your harness though.

I would try the switch first...

Finished up the turbo inlets, radiator and fans, 2700cfm was able to fit on the surface of the radiator. Hope that’s enough. Also slipped on 2 resonators and 2 mufflers to see what they sound like. Also finished up installing the instrument cluster, still working out the bugs but it’s working pretty good!

Image

Video of the fans working nice, and a VERY VERY nice quiet exhaust. Maybe too quiet. We will see once its gets some load under it.
