2.0L20v90Q...white wheels it is!!
so ive been working little by little here, seats mounted, alomost done tacking the cage in. got the dash panels cut out for the gauges and toggle switches, will be powdercoating them satin black hopefully this week.
also, started to mock up my fuel pump mounts and tried to figure out how im going to snake two -8 lines down there to feed both of them, but we will see once i bring some line home tomorrow. the hard part will be to try and get the line to not go up at all, seeing as how the pumps are currently just gravity fed.

so the initial fuel pump idea is no longer, and i have opted to put the pumps pretty much directly off of the fuel cell in the trunk. then the idea was to put the y block under the car where the pumps mount stock, and run the line up over the driveshaft and to a solid SS line up the car to the engine bay, as it is done stock.
problem there would be the fact that i chopped the floor out in that area to make the downpipe...so running the fuel lines right next to the downpipe, didnt really seem like a good idea to me at all. so im going to run the lines up the drivers side of the car, right along the brake line that goes to the rear. this will be good in two ways....itll keep the fuel away from the downpipe, and it will also come up to the bay on the side that the fuel rail is going to be, which will make the plumbing a bit shorter up there.

hahahaha.....i know, his lines look sick. that one piece crimp stuff is kinda a pain in the butt to work with, i threw at least three pieces clean across the garage while attempting to make what you see above.

ya, that weatherhead stuff ill leave loose til the very end cause once its pressed in the machine, its over.
that aluminum tubing stuff is a pain to work with though, especially to get any type of tight-ish bend without just snapping it in half

well, i got my gauge panel powdercoated and all the gauges ready to rock, all i need to do now is powdercoat the dash panel and ill be ready to wire all that stuff up.
also, got the brand new g60's mounted on the front. waiting for my rims to get here hopefully sometime next week.

got some bumper mounts worked out. going to attach the stock rebar to the rs2 clone with some expanding foam. and i can mount the intercooler from the bar running from side to side, as well as build a mount for the radiator.

so my car sorta looks like.....a car now.
that spray foam stuff is genius to mount the bumper skin....its a shame i sprayed a bit too much of it though and the bumper literally bulged a bit in a few places. anyways, i designed it this way so that i can still bolt the bumper off of the main bar running across the front of the car relatively easily.
as far as the bumper lining up with the wheel wells...i think i did the best i could for a replica bumper...i just need to drill some holes in it and mount it to the fenders.
also got the hood pin setup done. and boy was that not the funnest thing ive done in a while. whomever has the nutsack to do this on a limited edition carbon fiber hood....is off their farking rocker. (aaron)
as it sits now i have about seven inches from the block to the bar across the front of the car. i still need to get the timing belt stuffs on the motor, and i need to fit a radiator with fans in there too....so i may chop the bar running from side to side and move it foward as much as i can and still fit the intercooler between the bumper supports.

where you see it crooked? if youre talking about the pics from the front of the car its just chillin on the bumper, so thats why it prolly looks a bit lopsided.
ill have to check siliconeintakes and see whats up. i think i still want to move that bar foward a bit regardless so the the core sits a bit closer to the opening of the bumper.
and i cant get them for ANYWHERE near that price at work....$30 bills? i may buy four just because., lol

did some more stuffs...moved that support an inch or two foward...its a tiiiiiight fit in there, so tight that i actually had to cut the bolts that are holding the stock aluminum, rebar onto the bumper brackets in order to squeeze the thing in there. i want the core that way as well too, i kinda like the.....heres my intercooler look, and not the pipes sticking out of either side of the bumper.
and now we're working with this.
gonna shoot for mocking up my piping this week sometime.

so i think i got the downpipe situated, what a farking pain in the nuts that was. i guess since the intercooler piping was a walk in the park, the donwpipe decided to be quite tough to figure out.
it spits out right behind the tranny mount, on the subframe down there, and thats as far as i made it. i did try and get it a bit longer, but then i couldnt fit it all in the car in one piece, so this is the first solid part of the system, then everything else will be expanded and band clamped, cause u-bolt clamps are the suck. perhaps ill even go baller and vband it all, we'll see.
also got the solid shift linkage finished and coated. as well as some other bits.
dash is fin
