There used to be a guy on the S2Forum who made carbon fiber door sills. Does anyone know if those are still an option?

Spent some time today to continue cleaning the engine bay. Gonna hit it with a fresh coat of pearl before the 3B goes in.

Thanks! The white shows everything.

Decided to make a run to a local junkyard that had a cabriolet, just to see if there was anything worth grabbing. Glad I did because it had a good belly pan and a few other things I brought home. Didn’t really need the B4 hood stuff, but figured it was worth the effort since it was “all you can fit on a wheel barrel for $80” day.

I should have grabbed the window regulators, brake booster and few other things.

Engine bay touch up is done. Man, that was a tone of work...do not want to do that again.

Dude I still can’t get over how good a deal you got on all those parts . I would be in heaven if I found pearl b4 front end and fenders.

Engine bay looks great. When you get the engine in this will really be worth all the effort . Will look amazing .
Only Issue is now you have to take everything to this level of cleanliness .

I know. Need to check with them to see how often they have that deal. I’d like to go back and get a few more things. I’ve already sold the hood conversion parts.

Thanks. That’s a tough one. I’ve tried to clean most everything I’ve touched, but the underside has not received the same treatment. I think I might break out the power washer again before I se it on the ground. It worked pretty well on the wheel wells.

Thanks. Yeah, I’ve been really tempted to convert to vacuum assist, but I had Dave Kase rebuild my bomb last year and it’s been working well (knock on wood).

Thanks. Next is to reassemble everything. I’m really pushing to have it running by early Summer.

Today, I bled the new master cylinder, connected the hardlines, ABS pump, booster, rack, stabilizer, and tie rods. Also spent way too long fumbling with the battery cable grommet.

I’m trying to figure out where to cut the fuel tank vent line that goes to the evap canister. I am switching to an evap canister that goes in the fender. I think I might just cut it down low where it turns up in to the engine bay and run a rubber fuel hose to the evap.

Be awesome if you get it on the road this summer.

It's been so long since I pulled my car apart I'd have to go back through pictures to even recall the setup!

I have to do that regularly myself. Would be lost sometimes without them.

More stuff making its way back on today. 3B wiring harness and what’s left of the 7A wiring harness, coil, bomb, washer tank, hydraulic fluid reservoir, new hood release cable.

Thanks Forrest.

Today, I made a bracket for and mounted my fan resistor pack. Also got most of the fan wiring done. Does anyone know which post on the 500W fan motor is positive?

I also attempted to make a set of rubber flaps that go in the fender well around the tie rods. I think they turned out okay.

Anybody see an issue with using this for my chassis ground on my battery relocation? It’s an m12 to m10 stud screwed in to captive nut on the frame rail for where the old procon10 bracket be used to be. I would shorten the m10 side so that it doesn’t stick out so far.

I added a small length of negative cable to a post I can use for charging/jumping.

I think all I have left on the power/ground front is to make a new ground wire for the bell housing and to change the positive terminal on the 4 awg wire to the starter.

Everything looks amazing - great idea with the jump post, now that you added it hope you never need to use it :)

Thanks. I am trying hard to keep it clean and tidy. I like the idea of being able to jump it (if needed) from the front or rear and not be worried about which way it’s parked in the garage.

Progress has been SLOOOWW!! Pretty typical for me in the Summer, with the heat and lots to do around the house. I’ve also started the process of building a dedicated detached garage/shop. I hope to break ground later this month. But here are a few small updates…

Test fitted some new wheels. TSW Revos, 4x108, 17x7 et45. I plan to paint or powder coat them and use a 10mm, 15mm or 20mm spacer.

Image

I recently picked up a Kamei armrest. Think I might paint it grey and recover with grey vinyl or leather.

Image

Image

Lastly, I’ve been kicking myself for not doing a better job of labeling this mess. But I’m almost done and just have a couple non engine harness plugs to identify.

Although I was able to get the auxiliary relay panel mounted up, I don’t think I’ll be able to get the knee bolster on with all the guts hanging out below. :-). Not sure if I can poke them in or will have to unplug everything and go about it a different way.

Image

Did some test fitting of my 17x8 et35 Hockenheim’s with some 15mm spacers that I bought for the Revo’s. Might be a tad too aggressive.

Also got the transmission and front subframe in yesterday, but failed to take a picture.

that wiring looks great and man the engine bay looks so clean , and the wheel wells .
I don’t know if you’re going stock or what exactly you’re doing for turbo and exhaust but the only one thing to check is downpipe clearance with that stud.

Thanks! I was planning to trim that post down after I get the transmission ground cable built and connected. To start with, it’ll be the stock turbo, EM, and a modified 3B down pipe.
