Second, 91 octane is swill when it comes to fuel selection.
Will you do better than 315whp on straight 91 pump with no det? Yes, almost certainly. I just prefer to set you up for worst possible numbers so you are happy when the final result is done, rather than the other way around!
Marc, I can see your point for sure, its better to err on the side of caution so I know what your saying, also your running a business and reputation is a large part of it so I can see why you take the approach you do. As we discussed the Meth is the best option for lower EGT so I have already looked into a Aqua Mist system to install. Your counsel has definitely not fallen on deaf ears.
I just wasn't expecting for another $1000 gone so it was a gut check for sure but its all for the best in the end. I don't want to blow up my new motor so I will take your advice and install the Meth. I want reliability and performance to parallel each other that's why I have spent so much money and time building the car before I purchased any performance parts. Usually people tend to become impatient and go straight for the go fast parts. Any way enough said, just have to scrape up another 1k for the meth.
cheers Mate

Ok finally back from fighting fires all summer. Gone almost two months straight. I got a little time to open up all my boxes of ordered parts. Got to get the house ready for winter so I haven't had any time to work on the car. I do believe I have everything except the injectors for the car which I am still waiting on Hank for those.
Got the 034 Motorsports fuel pump bracket for the 044 motorsport fuel pump various an fittings and steel braided hoses, got my Ecu back from Marc with the 4 bar map sensor installed and chipped for Methanol, 600BHP here we come, and also modified for the RS4 Maf which I still have to rewire. Also not show in the pick is the Aqua mist methanol injection system that I will be installing and running about 15%. I still have to fabricate a stainless steel container for that and mount it in the boot of the car. Still have to fabricate the waste gate down pipe, and exhaust down pipe from the turbo. The intercooler pipes have to be fabricated as well. Lots left to do so I can't possibly make it to BBQ which is a real bummer. I was so looking forward to that this year.

glad to see progress Nate. just wish I didn't have to tear mine down again over burning some oil. at least a new clutch is part of that scenario.

What is the culprit for burning oil? Bad rings or valves? At the very least it is not a huge job. I did mine in one day head off valves changed and lapped then back together with a new MLS gasket. Is your clutch gone the way of the Aztecs? If so check your slave cylinder while your in there if your putting a heavier pressure plate.
How is the coupe running as of late any way?

just had head gone through. new ferra ex valves, 3ang plus back cut. head should be perfect. Turbo is fresh. I believe its rings. Its ok as I have them in hand as well as coated rod and mains + arp main studs.
clutch wont hold power of the E85 crack pipe lol. which doesn't sadden me for some reason. read the last few posts of my thread and get the whole story.
Joe would be proud!

Looks delicious... what colour was it supposed to be?

It was supposed to be dark grey or silver black was my last choice but it looks ok so not to big a deal. The entire reason was the thermal protection so the color really isn't important.

034 sells that heat shield. It comes in gray as well.
Nate, I found your project thread again! Nice work!

Cheers Darin,
A lot of work but it will be a think of beauty! pry4SNO you can buy the heat shielding from 034 as Audilard has suggested. As fabrication goes there is a lot of redesigning parts or changing locations so everything can fit. You can plan all you want but things change due to space restrictions or other parts becoming more of a nuisance than expected. This is where I am left, I had to buy a short radius 90 degree silicone hose 3.5 to 3.0 to accommodate the RS4 Maf and a new AEM air filter that has a 3.5 inch opening. There was no way around this as I had to keep the diverter valve tubing post Maf and I just plain ran out of space but the new parts will fit, but just. It should be very tidy once complete.

Thank you man, you up in Canada? Looks cold where ever you are. Busting my butt trying to get this thing back on the road. I have been working on this car for about a year now not full time but off and on hoping for about 500 WHP with methanol.
Any way thanks for the comments!

Thank you for your positive response. Looks like you have a nice usr4 in your profile pic. Do you have anything done to your car?
