just off center it seems to me....

and what is impressive to me is the fact that i still made almost 600 AWHP on them :o

Damn those wrist pins got owned!
Word of advice for the future... limit the boost with a valve duty cycle cut or an ignition retard at a certain boost or both. I always have at least 2 or 3 boost limiters(boost controller, ECU ignition retard(soft) and ECU fuel cut(hard) and they've saved my engine when my WG started sticking.

Damn I never thought be that, they must twisted a half, I can not imagine how much force it takes to brake wrist pin

yeah def, beefy parts are the best

speeding-g60 wrote:UPDATE:

i took block apart tonight. seems i broke ALL of the wrist pins LOL.....

i think 45 psi boost spike @ 6k rpm had something to do with it, but who is to say for sure. :)

hahahaha all of them dang! i wouldnt think 45 psi would bust up internals, hahah most people are doing 35 psi on stock blocks right? :hide:

I thought right off that the wrist pin slop might have bent the crank, I've seen it a lot with spun rod bearings. I just didn't want to be the guy to mention it.

and then the new pieces.... they look pretty beefy. the middle i think is .180 wall, and it tapers out to the ends of the pins internally. hard to take a picture of something like this.

Ok I gotta say it and get it off my chest. Is it possible those pins were defective? I mean wft one ok, two wow all four wtf!! Somethings just not sitting well with me about those pins.

I really have to ask, why do those pins look like a tube inside a tube?

Are they really made that way?

I'd be furious with the piston/pin manufacturer if that's how they are made.

dunno. many things that poor motor went thru.

crank walked, had > 1.1mm end to end play. sideways stress on the pins? probably due in part to the heavy ass clutch, a dual diaphragm pressure plate...

lifted the head twice, torched it the last time.

lots of 8500 rpm rev limiter hits while drag racing.

this is the other end of the pin view. its solid....

all of those pics are stunning... that is amazing what an engine would go through.... and still run. hehe

Aaron I think they got broken, when crank was walking back and fourth, that’s why it broke in a middle. New parts look sweet when it will run again??

Well, on the plus side, if you ever get beat by someone in class, you can just tell them that your motor is so powerful that you broke all four wrist pins (sarcastic  )
