my 5 speed swapped v8q did an indicated 160 with only an exhaust and chip..im sure this thing will have issue getting there REALLY fast.

I was being pretty modest and conservative when I said 160. I will find out when I take it to the Texas Mile or T2K. Those are two events to see what the car can do. I'm thinking it should hit 200 but I need to talk to Jeff Gerner more about issues that arise from high speed such as lift, driveshaft, of tires. Seems like it will have the torque/hp...and the 3:89 ratio with a TDI 6 speed trans are a good combo for top end.

To be safe at 200MPH I'd heavily look into downforce (as well as suspension, some big ass tires, and brakes but you know that)

Nope, don't know much about driving safely near 200. Never been near that before. 145... Yes ... 200... No. Closest I've been to that is about 185 but that was on my bike.

I was more so talking about how you know you need bigger tires already since it's laying down elevensies when strapped to the dyno, and it's not even at full boost yet.
Saw a video recently of a GTR losing control at 200 due to the spoiler not being there and hitting the brakes because the parachute didn't deploy.
having low drag is awesome on T44's. We just cut through the air. At anything above 150mph though, downforce will be needed and low drag will be a bad thing.
(Fastest I've ever been was 140, so my experience is not first hand. Just from stuff I've researched, heard from other friends with much faster cars, and read about.)

I would think that at high speeds having low drag would be good, unless low drag = low downforce. I would guess that a chin splitter and a diffuser or spoiler would improve stability at speed.

Yes, downforce is drag.

Hows this going, hope to see it keep moving!
Not a huge Top Speed person myself but I did 163 on GPS here with just a chip and exhaust and WG mod, it was a bit squirley to say the least at those speeds and that was on the stock suspension. With some tires and suspension I bet you could easily break into the 190's without breaking much of a sweat or it being too scary.

I've got plans to help out in the handling department. I plan on using the larger front sway bar from my V8. Then I plan on doing coil overs front and rear. I also have a new steering stabizer that will be going on. Then I will add a rear sway bar. That should make the ride stable, predictable and control overall.

I got bored/curious and entered my information into an online calculator gear/speed calculator. I believe Jeff Gerner reached over 260 mph for a short time at Bonneville and I believe he has a 4:11 final drive. So when I put the numbers in for my European Turbo Diesel O1E 6 speed with a 3:89 final drive (Not 4:11) and a 6th gear being .56, I see these numbers being pretty achievable. I put the shift RPM at 8,000 RPM. I am not saying my motor is capable spinning up to 8,000 rpm in 6th gear and reaching over 270 mph but it gives me a good idea for lower speeds/lower gears. I am thinking I will realistically settle for diving the car at 750 wheel horsepower once everything is dialed in . Miles Per Hour is listed in the lower left hand side of the table...
1st gear = 44 mph
2nd gear = 81 mph
3rd gear = 124 mph
4th gear = 176 mph
5th gear = 225 mph
6th gear = 273 mph
It should be fast enough to put me at risk of getting a speeding ticket... or two...

Flywheel have a pin on it yet?

So... The first 034 60-2 damper failed... (Reluctor ring broke free of the damper) I bought another new 60-2 damper from 034 and it is not able to give a clean signal. (Supposedly too much run out and giving trigger errors). There is nothing left to replace as everything is completely new. Now going the only route I know of as a last resort before pulling Vems and the harness completely out. To answer the question... No, the flywheel is not supposed to be in until Wednesday. 034 is giving credit for one of my bad dampers toward a 60-2 LW aluminum flywheel. So I will be selling my lightweight aluminum flywheel that is currently in the car or sending it back to 034 to have them convert it to a 60-2. I believe Dan told me it was like only about 100 bucks to do it so why not. The car was on a good path bumping up the power until two dampers went bad and stopped the tuning process. I just want to get the car back in good running order so I can tear it down again :( I have the light weight lifters in there and I don't want to end up with the same fate that Nick did. So I just want to get through this tuning dilemma and get the car back in my hands and start moving forward with it. First thing on the list is replace the lifters for some that are beefier on the tops. I am way past ready to drive the car. That is what it is for. I have been driving the project with as much motivation and resources as I possibly can and the gas can is running out very fast. If the car is not running next week, it might be a point in my life to quit chasing this crazy idea of trying to get this car going again. It might be time to to turn a page in my book and move on to something else in my life. I don't want it to take away the love I have for cars but this has exhausted me the last couple of years.

there is no more new parts to try to throw at it in attempt to get it going.

Okay so you are going to have the flywheel swapped but did try a new front damper first? That sucks.
Don't give up on it yet. You are so close. I truly know how you feel.
Why would you pull VEMS out? You have the solution all ready to go on Wednesday.

Waited for the 2nd damper, got it installed and it didn't work...
Flywheel should be in on Wednesday, but if that doesn't fix it, I am mentally done. I might give one more gasp of motivation and take out anything related to electrical... Vems, harness, and sensors. That's it. Start fresh with something else. A little extreme but I am tired of F'in with it. Maybe put a meter to some of the sensors I have now to prove they are good so I don't have to toss them, but start fresh with the standalone and harness. That is if the flywheel solution doesn't pan out.

Was the VR sensor close enough to the trigger wheel? I can't imagine there would be anything else that would cause trigger errors aside from wrong missing teeth or something. Or possibly a bad VR sensor.
The 60-2 flywheel is a great idea anyway. I just converted my car over to use the 60-2 on my tilton/034 flywheel. I also designed a part to use the factory 3B/AAN VR sensor in the 01E opening rather than converting your harness over to the B5 type sensor. Let me know if you want one...or Hank can let me know.
I can assist with settings and VEMS internal mods too if Marc isn't available.

Hank put in a new VR sensor and it didn't help. It is suspected there was runout in the reluctor ring and possibly getting too far away to pick up... So those wires are going to be pulled back to connect on a sensor on the trans. Looks like you are a couple steps ahead on this issue. So is the spacing good on yours? Looks like you used your 3d printer to make your mount. Must be nice to have a toy like that.
I am interested in your solution and like the idea. I'm not sure how/where Hank plans on mounting/spacing the sensor but I will definitely show him what you have come up with. Are you going to try it out with that material until it is proven that it will work and then have it machined from aluminum or do you think that material will be ok from heat and physical damage? Thanks for chiming in with some help. Love the idea and don't recommend anyone try to pick up signal on the balancer.

Forgot to mention. Looks like a nice piece you can easily produce and sell and yes I am interested in one. Maybe some shims might be necessary depending on what company or who machined the flywheel. I'm curious if my outside diameter of flywheel differs from the one you have.

Spacing is perfect. This part is dead on what you will need if you plan to use one of the factory sensors anyway.
I originally printed the first one in ABS plastic and low amount (10%) of infill material (lower density). Once it got hot it deformed where the bolt held it to the transmission and became loose. I tightened the bolt and got home without an issue. I have since printed the second one in Nylon and in 50% infill which is a much more dense part. So far no issues. I can also make the thing solid which would have like no chance of an issue. Making it from aluminum would work well too obviously.
I would have to assume the flywheels are the same diameter for the starter to work correctly but I could change this for you if needed too.

Why not convert to a 60-2 RMS?

Maybe do both and use whatever works best?
I like the flywheel and Nicks mount though.
Don't give up hope yet!

Nothin much to add... Bought a set of CAC clear D11 V8 turn signals for the front bumper for when I do my hybrid 20v/20v/V8 front end conversion.

I picked up a loaded set of Porsche 996 calipers today for a big brake upgrade. I hope and plan on "needing" and using these. I just need to clean them up a little and re-clear them to make them look new again.

I might have a deal on these mega rare amber D11 V8 fog lights. Whenever I get my car back, I will see if they will look ok next to the clear turn signals. These were supposedly a limited edition for D11's in France. Here is the only picture I could find of them. I'm thinking it will look better next to the CAC clear turn signals rather than the standard turn signals.

Damn! E85 is cheap! I was getting gas today and noticed E85 at my corner gas station is $1.49. I hear E85 burns cooler and makes more power than premium. It looks like it is much cheaper too. Win win situation... Man I wish I had a car that runs on E85!
