well, its taken quite a bit, but i am this close to having the correct suspension under it again. and its in a bit of a different state from whence you owned it i think

i am looking to go pretty fast in it.

i faxed in the cage order sheet today. we shall see what they say.

i get the two VW's (both blown, one MK3 Vortech supercharged VR6, the other GT35R in a rabbit with 20v) ((and blown as in forced induction, not broken blown)) over to their new storage unit, and this car can get off the trailer and inside for some good lovin.....

i bought that car all flat black and running like s@#t.had plans for it.....but to many projects.when i get my done i'll have to make a visit and say hi.

ok. one car gone, rabbit as soon as i re-plumb the coolant lines and switch back to 12 volt from 16 volt. nothing to it but to do it. then the coupe can come inside.

here is the new home of the vw's. i have lots of wheels and tires, i think i am somewhat of a packrat. i have them in the attic, the garage, the shed(s), the storage, outside the side of the house. most i will never use again. brand new BFG DR's, 2 x 205-50/15, 2 x 205-40/17. just junk laying around.

another bothersome thing is that i really like this car, the MK3, it is sooooo damned fun to drive as it is Vortech SC'd VR6. but i never have the time. i should sell it, but i will miss it if i do. its built.

Bilstein PSS-9's, BBS RK-II 2-pc wheels, bigger brakes, full audiophile level stereo setup, Quaife LSD, Momo, EIP manifold, all Autotech strut/sway bars, Techtonics/Borla exhaust, Rieger R-RX front end, ABT skirts/grill, Hella MK4-look HID lights, CF hood, and lots more. it is such a blast to drive. really is. also a pair of TSW Volcano rims and the 17" BFG DR's setup for if i ever wanted to drag it. run twice....

oh well. just a shot or two of it all cozy in its new home. i drove it three times last year i think.

yeah i keep hearing that, but i have been to 5 places including two airports, and havent seen one. i even had the wife order tha online copies @ 3 bux each, but she got dec and jan. its the feb issue. i will get it soon enough

i will have someone meet me tomorrow @ airport to show it to me LOL.

and i got some more stuff done. here is exploded view of twin disc. and the rear bumper and skirts are painted now too. and there is nothing like a pile of spare parts.....

oilpan is for buddy in Berlin.. cheaper for me to pick stuff up for him here and ship to him. and he, in return, gets me my stuff like the H4/H1 headlights for B4, etc.

and this color really is weird. in full sunlight, the copper effect metallic is really coming out. i cant wait until the whole thing is painted....

so should i do complete car? or still do the whole roof black?

Do the whole car the copper color. You should also do the bottom part of the rear bumper since with the side skirts, the black doesn't line up with, or relate to, anything any more.

hmmm. i think you got it there with the bumper. but it sucks to paint the textured section of it. i guess we just have to sand the crap out of it to make it stick... prep it right.

but the bumper is done, he's gonna be pissed when i ask him to paint the whole thing HAHA

but that color.... look further up the page you will see it in less light, looks way different. its strange.

Painting the textured part of the bumper would work fine, you nee dot do some special prep and use special paint and additives, but it works fine. BTDT, Ill did out some pics and info if I can fined em....

i say do the whole car in the same color.. not monochromatic though. it's not an american hotrod. german cars have beltlines for good reason.

picture a Gen 1 mitsu eclipse.... that type of theory... the only down side is that big expanse on the hatch pillar. it would look great with dark tinted windows, but i dont run tint on the strip.... its all just planing. and he took the rear lower bumper repaint rather wel actually. i had to stroke his ego some, and tell him that his idea (which was the whole thing) in the first place was better. so i think when i go home next wekend, doors will be done as well.

Derek, please expand on this "beltline" is that the door trim?

I guess it was the combination of the pug and the huge turbo but that cracks me up. Did Spazz do that to your sweat pants??

That color is the same the front of the car is painted? Almost looks maroon in the other pics if it's the same. But that color orange-ish is :thumbsup:

what I was going to paint my old turbo rabbit, but ended up painting it a pinkish maroon(porsche color :roll:

and no, Spaz didnt do the sweats. many hours of building the rabbit.... welding, grinding....
