Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
I would be very surprised if that wagner manifold cleared the hood. It sticks pretty darn high in the bay. If you look at the manifold I built for Casey's 200 20vt, we had to put the throttle cable on the side instead of vertical like the Wagner, plus add width to the plenum, as the height was limited. It is a very tight squeeze, even with a custom radiator.

Josh, this is really cool to see. I'm so glad you decided to post! Add another absolutely badass T44 to the list! I'm very interested in the head work. I've spoken with Jeff a few times. Seems like a great guy.

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
Hank! Any other surprises you know of coming my way? No, really... Before I bought the manifold, I started looking at flow numbers for each runner in stock form, googled pics of them installed in 200's which most ere in Europe, and read some forums about guys who had th in the cars. The general conclusion was that they were having problems getting them to fit with the phenolic spacer. I read where one guy actually had his spacer milled down some to give him the clearance he needed. There was one horror story where the guy didnt know he had a torn engine mount and when he launched, the motor torqued bumping the bottom side of the hood. I'm sure it is close, but this is one time I hope you are wrong. :-). If you are right, it will only force me to fab that custom cowl hood I was talking about. It sure would look good with a cowl hood and v8 front and rear fenders.
Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
Oh yeah, where can I find the manifold for Casey's build?
Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
Chris, I love Hank's huge plenum intake. I was going to get one but I was trying to find a core from a 3b to have one modified instead of the 100% custom fab one you have. It is sweet and makes good use of the room. I think I was being cheap and trying to keep cost down by having hank add a plenum to the 3b runners. I placed an wanted add to get one but couldn't find any of them for sale. A week after I ordered the intake, I saw two of them pop up. Figures.
Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
I have never seen a wagner on a 200, so if you have, I am sure it is fine. It iwll be very close though
Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
I will send you pics the day it goes in and works or doesn't work.
Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
Did Jeff weld the exhaust manifold himself? It looks nice.
Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
I didn't ask. You should give him a call. He said he is a big fan of your work/products.

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
You are going all out, props for that!
I was amazed how much meat had to come off the IM for my 70mm TB too. I used a router with a non-ferrous carbide burr and it worked well, just don't forget to trim the gasket, lol
Nice polishing too, I did my IM, valve and coil covers and it sure does take time...
Keep up the good work!

so you know the time it takes then. I started with a grinder, then used a sander, then a pad with clay from harbor freight. I will try to find a pic of the valve cover to show you how it turned out. Thanks for the compliment.

Thanks Kuma!
Glad you got it in good condition. i have that middle console waiting for you.
If you guys ever head towards Houston, Steve Jensen lives in Houston. LMK, i live in Killeen.
Josh, your car looks GREAT!

Here is how I ended up...

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
Damn that is clean, I hope mine turns out half as nice as that. Did you have a machine shop do the rings? I came close to giving up on the intake runners but just kept at it. It was a pain in the butt to get the sander in there. I got a "mouse" sander from Walmart to get into the tight spots. I like how the coil wires are done. I have thought about hiding the coils behind the first fire wall where the ac stuff is. I haven't looked to deep into it yet but it will be something I will try to do. Maybe drill a 1" hole with a hole saw and pop in a rubber grommet.

Hank did that IM, looks great smoothed out.
Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
I gotta say, that is a clean pretty looking engine bay. Makes my hands and fingers hurt just looking at all that hand polished aluminum. I'm not usually one for the shiney chrome look, but this bay I like.

Thanks everyone, I'll do my own thread soon...
I actually ended up grain finishing with scotchbrite to make clean up easier, not so bling but still super clean.

I was going to ask if that was the case as it looked almost like a matte or semi-gloss like finish. Almost a brushed aluminum look. Again I could do that!
(Sorry for the clutter Josh)

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
I said I was going to post some ideas I was kicking around for the valve cover. I didn't know which Audi emblem to use and what location. I want it to look almost factory placed if possible. Here is a pic when I started grinding and another when I was getting closer.
